Felix Rey’s Michelle Bag is black patent, and reminds me of a certain Fendi bag from a few seasons ago. The bunchy bow-type fabric that is pouring out of the front of the bag is a little much for my taste, and that gosh darn contrast stitching is bad enough to get your arrested. For Felix Rey, I suggest sticking to their clutches. Their purse designs are almost always a little out there, and not in a good, risky-fashion way. The bright yellow gold chain link handles add to the tackiness of the bag, and for $550 (available at shopbop.com), you’re better off spending your money somewhere else.

Vanessa Bruno made a name for herself with tote bags, and I was never sure how this quite caught on. Her bags are sold at high end boutiques all over the world, and somehow women are snapping up these bags for hundreds of dollars. This one is the vinyl variety, and the price is still steep. The Vanessa Bruno Vinyl Tote with Grommets is basically just that: a vinyl tote. Somewhere in the past few seasons designers have decided that the high price of vinyl should be carried over to the consumer, but I’m not buying it. The tote gives you plenty of room for travel or the beach, but I’m not sure who would want to carry a $419 bag to the beach, but to each her own! The tote with Grommets is available at shopbop.com.

With all of this rain, snow, wind and miserable weather the past few weeks, I really needed some cheer. Recent L.A.M.B. designs have really started to appeal to me. I love the bold kelly green color of this Glazed Love - Asti Hobo. Using the quirks of the Pretty Nylon collection, Marc Jacobs is able to pack more cuteness into a hobo. A “little” hobo, that is.
