The ever so elegant Elizabeth Banks looked absolutely stunning  at the Barneys New York cocktail party honoring Tod’s Diego Della Valle for receiving the FGI “Brand Visionary” Award. She wore a punchy yellow Max Mara dress, which paired seamlessly with her Tod’s clutch and heels. Elizabeth is so effortlessly feminine and modern that it really is no surprise she is able to consistently put together and pull off such memorable and bold looks. I’m super jealous that not only does she have a gorgeous Tod’s clutch, but that she can get away with wearing yellow!

Sure, sure, this Tumi Voyageur Cortina Boarding Tote may seem like just a carry-on, but here’s the deal. I travel a lot, and between airport security and holiday travelers (i.e. people who don’t know the drill), travel is such a b*tch these days that any added little luxury I can afford, I take. I can’t always get a first class ticket, but having my carry-on organized is a plus, and the ample interior and exterior pockets of this bag help me out on that front. I may be a hot mess when I arrive, but at least I’ll know where to find my makeup in this tote. Plus, the luxurious plum color is my personal favorite (though it comes in others) – it makes me feel pulled together, and the pop of snakeskin print on the interior is so chic. If you aren’t yet familiar with Christopher Kon, now is a great time to get acquainted. The designer’s exquisite handbags are at once polished and trendy – and generally quite well priced, to boot. The Sereena Flap Crossbody Bag is a great example, showing off to-die-for platinum beige leather that’s been accented by a braid-embellished handle and a multitude of tassels. I’ll agree, this Emily Strange Posse Coin Purse is a little on the strange side. Of course, that’s only if you’re not familiar with the icon that is Emily the Strange.  Emily is a proud voice for individualism and self-awareness, represented broadly by her signature style. I know wedding season has pretty much wound down, but I couldn’t help but think of gorgeous bridal gowns and bouquets bursting with blooms when I saw this Inge Christopher EVE519 Clutch in Blush. It doesn’t seem quite right for holiday cocktail parties, but if you’re a bride looking for something to stash your necessities in, I’d  go for this sweet clutch. Words like straw and jute are music to my ears, because it means that warmer weather isn’t too far away. Unfortunately for me, it’s still far enough away that bags like this Lanvin Plage Woven Jute Tote are only available for pre-order – but I do love to plan ahead. Lace? Straw? What are those two doing together? Few designers could make such opposing details work as well as Valentino. The label’s Lace and Straw Shopper is relatively transfixing, if only because it’s so unique in its construction. The sheer, black lace overlay gives a romantic feel to what would otherwise be just another straw bag. Of course, a Valentino isn’t a Valentino without a big, floppy bow somewhere on it.
