This probably isn’t the most practical of purses, but isn’t that what evening bags are supposed to be like, all show and glamour without a worry about functionality? Well, I certainly think so! Judith Leiber definitely has a thing for crystals. Lots and lots of crystals. That’s not a complaint, just an observation, and actually an admiring one at that. One of my favorite under-the-radar labels is Tarnish. They’re known for churning out high-quality bags at extremely reasonable prices, and the new Turnlock Flap Pocket Leather Satchel is no exception. Smartly constructed and detailed with endurance in mind, it boasts dual front pockets (great for keys and coins) and a toughened-up hue called redwood that is at once earthy and chic. I haven’t met too many 3.1 Phillip Lim purses that I didn’t like, so the Cameron Leather and Silk Flower Clutch has earned itself a rather dubious distinction. Intriguing on paper it may be, but the actual execution leaves a lot to be desired. The clutch is oddly shaped – more of a little box than a sleek rectangle – and isn’t very spacious. That would be fine if it were actually pretty…but, no. The combination of edgy back leather with lavish ivory colored flower embellishments just doesn’t work. I suppose with a lighter colored leather it would just end up looking like a bridesmaid accessory, but that would be much, much cuter. Find it for $475 at Net-a-Porter.
