This little daredevil is embellished with quilted detailing, studded spikes around the bottom and shoulder strap, and goldtone hardware. You really have to love wearing stripes and sequins AT THE SAME TIME in order to appreciate the Resort Stripe Small Beach Tote from luxe-for-less label Deux Lux. I get the stripes – they’re springy, summery and beachy all at once – but the sequins appear distinctly out of place. There are four color variations available, including this dipped-in-red version, but none of them really call my name. Although the concept is intriguing, the execution somehow doesn’t translate well. Available for $102 at Nordstrom.
Spring being the season of extreme color, it’s no surprise we’re starting to see so many bold hues on the shelves – and the more excessive, the better.
