It’s all so darn whimsical and cute that it might make you feel like a little princess. For Resort 2013, Nancy Gonzalez didn’t hold back. Sure, she remains true to her penchant for exotic materials, but while her usual fare is darker and more dramatic, these are airy and downright playful by comparison. You wouldn’t think such a twist would really work, but here is the proof – a collection of bags so fantastic, you’ll want them all.
I adore this delightful Pink Ostrich Tote! It appears that it was made especially for me – I could not have envisioned a better shade of pink, something so soft and rosy and juicy all at once. It almost looks a bit like the color of a strawberry Slurpee, does it not? Coupled with bundles of adorable cherry charms (complete with bright green leaves), it’s perfect from its rounded handles to its spacious interior.
Polka dots? Nancy Gonzalez? Never would’ve expected it, but the designer’s Mini Triangle Clutch proves she can do cute and fun just as well as, say, Juicy Couture. This feels sophisticated at the same time, thanks to a sleek silhouette that allows the crisp hue and contrasting laser-cut dots to really shine.
The Mini White Crocodile Tote reminds me a bit of Dior, what with its vintage-style silhouette and decorative topstitching. I’d probably opt for a Dior over this if I were spending that kind of cash anyway, but this lovely bag does have its merits. It’s finely detailed, and in crisp white it’s the kind of bag that will be carried for a lifetime of summers.
