SAG Awards Fashion: The Best

I guess all of the Hollywood stylists are saving their energy for the Oscars, because the SAG Awards were depressingly void of any showstopping frocks. And what was with all the cleavage (Marg Helgenberger and Marcia Gay Harden, I’m talking to you)? That said, there were some lovely dresses, if not of the mind-blowing variety. Once again, subtle metallics and neutrals seemed to rule the red carpet. Reese Witherspoon, who wore sunny yellow to the Golden Globes, looked pretty but partly cloudy in a slate gray cocktail dress; Mariska Hargitay also went for gray with lots of glam lace trim. Cate Blanchett looked sublime in gold, while Heather Graham’s golden frock had a more youthful flair thanks to its short length. And, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I personally think that Rachel McAdams looked fresh and adorable in her short white mod-ish dress and white pumps. At least she had a bit of personality – not to mention Ryan Gosling by her side.
