Milan Fashion Week: Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2010
| By: Mariana L. | ||

I am completely buried in snow, the cars and trees outside my window are on the brink of collapse. Dolce and Gabbana have made the most of such wintery inspiration and showed a tongue-in-cheek apres-ski fantasy. The Italian duo took the classic cold weather staples of snowflake and cable sweaters and reinterpreted them into sexy coats, dresses and silky chiffon prints. Fur was a prominent point of luxury in the collection. It appeared in boots, coats and accents to make the chic St. Moritz look more luxe.
The handbags were various sized oblong clutches. Buttery soft leather, in classic colors that coordinated well with the clothing. Many were embellished with charms. As someone who consistently over-stuffs my own handbag, I appreciated the many bags I saw that were oversized, with multiple sections of three and four layers (instead of the single and double I normally observe). Other accessories included crystal studded helmets and goggles.

Not to nitpick, but this is actually a D&G collection.
