Most immediate family members in our area throw the showers too. It's the same with mother's hosting them for their daughters. I've been to a lot of bridal showers hosted that way. A close friend of mine had her's hosted by her sister. Of course the other bridesmaids helped too. Including me since I was one of them. The ladies I work with hosted mine. I had a non traditional wedding and we only had our best girl friend and best guy friend with us.
