Default Avante Garde Vs. Military

Avante Garde VS. Military

or should i say

Marie Antoinette vs. Queen of Nile

Who would You Go for?

It’s really cool seeing these popular trends around the industry nowadays, from bags to shoes to
clothes... ALL OF IT! How cool can you get wearing a black furry jacket with gold buttons and embellishments. It’s like wearing an
embellished Fendi B Bag.

One revived prints are the Brocades. Brocades can be quite confusing because there are a lot of designs
from the tassels of a corset up to the longest curtains of a seven star English hotel. It’s like wearing a table cloth but in a
very delicate yet stylish way.

Many were also captivated by the beauty of the reworked military outfit. Just as before, it’s very catchy and comfortable. With inspirations
from Egyptian and Greek Era, the cold war and the domination of Nazis, things were going round and round.

Christian Dior, Badgley Mischka and
Alexander McQueen got its inspiration from the gothic and renaissance period where brocade prints have flourished itself from the dresses of the
elite class. The pręt-a porter 2007
Ready to wear collection is a perfect example of John Galliano’s work for Christian Dior
where it shows strong colors and intricate detailing from beadworks up to the smallest studs wherein it says “shining-shimmering-splendid” hehe.

How to do it Avante Garde:

Going to the military fashion, Chanel’s latest Haute Couture collection features realistic detailing wherein they put some rusty brass buttons
which creates a
pragmatic and stylish look. It would make you feel like a princess in a battle field…very cute...
Also Oscar de la Renta and Zac Posen made it army-greek-like from their spring collections respectively, wherein it features metallic
colors like black and silver which imitates modern national forces of a
country and portrays somewhat like “vintage meets the future”.

How to do it Military:

For me I’d go for Grunge. Haha…Just kidding. Well of course military fashion, because I love the mixture of bold and metallic colors.
Very free-spirited,
very me! Unlike wearing corsets, where in you have to suffer first and breathe like a panting lion before achieving that look.

I am also going to include pictures of different fashion icons here in the Philippines which shows their love for old style kick-ass trend.
