Barbie
Blonde, beautiful and breathtaking. Barbie was my first style icon. She was everything I wanted to be as little girl. Who didn’t want her long locks, her perfect bone structure and her hot toned body? To top it all off, she had one perfect man by her side – Ken. Sometimes I realize how idealistic I was growing up, that I’d have that perfect life too with the perfect clothes and the perfect partner. If you loved Barbie that much, you’d get that disillusioned too. And then you get past six or seven years old, and you realize that Barbie is a fantasy and her world is a fairy tale that doesn’t exist in real life. And though you might not realize it at first, we real girls are much better off than Barbie. She may never grow old and have wrinkles, but just imagine just having one set of clothes and one pair of shoes forever? For us fashion followers, that will never do. I’d exchange that for Barbie’s perfection, anytime.
