is paddle brush much more better to use to help straighten hair while blow drying or just an ordinary comb? and also just for fixing hair, which is much better to make it straighter without blow drying?

angel - i learned from my long-time stylist that i should use a large round barrel brush so I can really pull the hair straight while blow drying. and then i find that blow drying with cold air helps to smooth out the hair follicles. lastly, i read that you shouldn't actually towel dry and wrap hair in a turban immediately after shampoo/conditioner. i just squeeze out excess water, and loosely wrap my hair in a turban then get out of the shower and immediately start drying. all this seems to help me straighten my coarse hair. whole process takes me almost an hour!!!
It is also hugely important that you buy a good brush. Get something cheap, or synthetic, and it will leave you with fly away frizzies that you will never tame.
since moving to PA, the water's very weird - it's "hard" with minerals, etc. so my hair and face are always dry. i tried a lot of shampoos and conditioners and what's working now is Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny line - shampoo, conditioner, friss-free styling serum but I like the Laminates gloss drops.

I found changes too when I moved to PA. However I live in a very SOFT water area, and rinsing soap from your skin is nigh on impossible. So I think that soap residue is causing 90% of my dryness and cracked skin.
I got taught that you should always use a good brush on wet hair, or a wide-toothed comb to remove any tangles. If you use a fine comb, or a cheap brush, you can seriously damage wet hair.
