Default Glasses Irritating My Nose?

Does anyone else here wear glasses? I used contact lenses for a few years but I've went back to glasses as they're less hassle. The thing is, I'm now finding that I'm getting dry spots on my nose where the glasses are resting. This never happened before...

I'm thinking of changing the frames - does anyone have any suggestions for frames that are maybe really light, or have good pads?

Do your glasses have those plastic 'nose pads' on them? My new glasses don't have those...the frame itself rests on the bridge of my nose and they are very comfortable....

There are little adhesive foam pads that you can get in glasses repair kits (think market stalls) that you put on the plastic bit. This can alleviate the irritation for many people, but in truth you might just find that they need adjusting. If the fit isn't quite right, it won't rest right on your nose. Go see your optician technician.

These frames are pretty new, and they still have the plastic bit on them. They're actually childs frames - I have a very small, thin face and adult ones don't fit.

Thanks for the tips, I'll buy a repair kit in the mean time, and get my optician to have a look at them later. It'll take ages to get an appointment unfortunately

For this you might not need an appointment. You don't need to see the doc himself, just the dude who fits you for the glasses out the front. We always just walked in when we needed adjustments or repairs.

The place I go to is really small, unfortunately - there's just the optician and two receptionists. I'll nip in though and see if the receptionists are qualified to do the fitting, or if the optician has a minute or two to spare between appointments.
