You should either get a more ergonomic keyboard and mouse or make one yourself by folding little towels for a DIY wrist rest so you won't aggravate things any more. If you're feeling pain, though, you better go and see your doctor to be sure. Your company better cover for the expenses

I get carpal tunnel sometimes and it's the worst. When carpal tunnel hits, I either use a special wrist brace that you can get at the drugstore or a gel wrist rest. Staples also sells ergonomic mouses that rolls around on your thumb. It's weird, but it works.

I know this CTS issue and I think I am beginning to experience the symptoms (but only twice) and I still haven't gone to the doctor. I should be worrying by now but I am not. Weird!

We all know we shouldn't be taking this for granted if we already have the signs and symptoms, don't we? But it was only twice! ...Hmmmp! I'm so stubborn.

Yes, but a family doctor knows about this thing too. If it's on an early onset, a family physician will do then maybe it's up to him if he would refer u or not.

Have you ever tried the gloves that go over your hands to help hold them in the proper position? I have these and they work great. I am always worried about carpal tunnel because I transcribe about 6-8 hours per day.

I'm a writer so I'm always worried about getting carpal tunnel. How many years of tedious hand-intensive work does it take to get symptoms?? I'm sort of nervous!

,Well let me tell you from experience about Carpel Tunnel. It started out for me in my thumb, index finger and middle finger.I would get pin pricky feeling all the way down into my wrist. But it got so bad, that my right hand would get numb at night. It got to where I would drop lightweight things such as pens, pencils and even my toothbrush.
So after going to my doctor who recommended me to an Orthopedic doctor who specializes in Hand Surgery,I had the surgery 15 years ago.The doctor cut me open down the middle of the palm of my hand down into my wrist.
And yes, even if you have surgery,it can come back a second time.
