Talking Changing your hair

How often do you change the color, style, length, etc. of your hair?

I got my hair trimmed and thinned the other day. I was only planning on getting it trimmed, but since my hair is so thick my hair stylist suggested I get it thinned. I always heard/thought getting your hair thinned damaged it really bad, but she said it didn't. At least my sisters hair go so messed up when she got her hair thinned! It got all frizzy all the time and she always had dead ends.

So, I got my hair thinned but luckily it turned out fine phew!

Not as often as I should. I donote my hair usually to locks of loves or other programs that use it to make wigs for cancer patients. I just got it done about 2 months ago now. I was short about 2 inches but I couldn't stand my hair anymore and wanted a change.I ended up with layers and it cut to above my shoulders again. I normally don't get layers all the way around but I did.I planned on getting it cut sooner but my friend who was going to do it was pregnant and she had so much going on at the time. Ironically another girl I went to school with cut it for me.She happened to be working at the salon I went to that day. I went to a vocational highschool and both of them majored in Cosmotology. I know with both of them I'll get my hair done right.I also thought about getting highlights for the first time. I didn't have extra money at the time.My hair changed after having my daughter and now it gets darker and my natural highlights don't show as much. So, when I need a change I get it cut, or when it annoys me.

Since I've lived in North Dakota (May 2005), I've only had my hair cut four times. Both times I had it done here, someone messed up, so I am just not going to do it anymore. I know that I have hair that is really hard to cut (I've been told that my whole life), so I'm going to stick to my friend back home. I went to cosmetology school with her, and she was the one that cut my hair back when I lived there. Before I moved here, I got my hair highlighted and cut every 6 weeks or so. Now I don't color it all (I can't place foils well on my own head, and I'm too picky to try to pull it through a cap) and only get it cut when I go home.

Wow! You only get it cut once in a while now? Split ends though.. =/

I've always been told my hair is hard to cut too, because it's so thick. Which is why I got it thinned the other day. It is so much easier to cut now.

Noone else ever had their hair thinned?

I have had my hair thinned, but it's always more for texture than because my hair is overly thick.

The reason my hair is so hard to cut is back it grows in a bunch of different directions along the bottom hairline. It almost always has to be touched up when it's dry.

carlaabt: Does your hair get damaged when you get it thinned? I like the way my hair turned out after I got in thinned but I think if I keep doing it it will get damaged

I like to change it every two or three months, but I have a limited number of styles I am comfortable with. I would like to be more open-minded about it in the future and try some new things.
