Also I just wanted to add that the model we worked here was wonderful!
A different model was scheduled but she didn't arrive so this girl stepped in to help us with absolutely no notice and no time to get ready.
She's never modeled before, if you can believe it, but and you can see how great the photos came out.

She had a super personality and was very professional.
If youre a talent or modeling agency looking for a new fresh faced girl to work with you can contact me here and I'll pass your inquiry along to her.
Thanks

Doesn't have to be a story. You could write a review on something fashion related. Something you saw on tv, saw online, a store you went to. Write a poem about fashion.
Its wide open, as long as its about fashion its good.
Kitsch wrote about some travels she did and the different designer stores she visited in her travels and I thought that was great. Unfortunately its not here in this contest but it 's a good idea regardless : )

So doesnt have to be a story, It can be in any format.

okay, here is my entry: my dream wedding dress is one of the creations of designer monique lhuillier because her designs are very classic, sophisticated and timeless. i like her style, the very elegant silhoutte of her gowns and accentuates a woman's figure. also the amazing thing is, she is a Filipina and i am very proud of her for making waves here in the USA. i wanna wear a one piece gown which hugs my curves and bustier-styled which has a silk thick belt tied around my waist with some mother-of-pearl beading on the belt. i want the color to be like a vintage beige like an off whitish color and i want my gown to be made of lace. i like it to look very vintage glam but in a modern sort of way. i also like to have a long veil
and my earrings will be mother-of-pearl too, just earrings, nothing more. now i am very much looking forward to meeting monique and wear my dream wedding gown and i must say that "proud to be a pinay" for she is a great designer.

ok i just found out about this site. But i soooooooooooooo want the second prize... I love it. so here is my entry.

70"s Fashions

We had the hip hugger pants before you
We also had the middrift tops.
So don't act like this is
all new fashions.
But now as i am older
They dont make
Hip hugger pants
To fit these hips.
And as for the middrift tops
You really don't want to see that mess.
So when you are wearing your short
little outfits.
Just remember in about twenty five years
from now.
That you will see the hip hugger &
little middrift tops come back on the scene.
And you will be writing a poem like this
Because you want to win a purse like these.

I hope this is okay. I am not a writer . like you couldnt tell....lol

Your not so very ordinary store

There were heroes who saved the world through their heroic deeds. It is only in the Philippines; well, at least for this little group, where salvation of the world from the bondage of war and attrition is done via fashion.

The name I LOVE YOU for the store came up because all items are “made out of love”. By buying things made out of love from the ‘I Love You’ store, hopefully it would make people say ‘I love you’ often, which is basically the mission of this arty vintage-loving group of girls.

I Love You’s Merchandise are not your ordinary fashion accessories, for the all evoke nostalgic drama, but with no pretensions whatsoever. These girls would always say they wanted to make their made-out-of-love items available to the market, something the malls aren’t prepared to do. These girls view fashion as art as how they would love weird things being collected and put them all together deconstructive-ly amazing.

This is not only a fashion store but rather an all-in-one. From photography, graphic designing, fashion designing, antique shop, café WHEW! I just so can’t imagine how it is like inside this wonderful abode. Shopping in I Love You is like looking through an extensive collection of family treasure. Oh well, that’s why I love my girls!

I Love You store is located at 7840 underground Pilar Place Bldg., Makati Avenue, Philippines or I LOVE YOU!!!

I am going to post some pictures which were featured around Philippine fashion magazines as their very utmost collection of 2006 for reviewers, they made it comic-like to add some relish savor.

And they are the owners of i love you; sharon, mimi and corinne

another entry:

Emo dress is characterized as distinctly non-fashionable, keeping with the movement's theme of showing little to no interest in all aspects of society. Emo individuals perceive themselves to be outcasts and dress accordingly so as to avoid any appearance of attempting conformity and falling short.

Girls tend to have short, dyed-black hair with the bangs cut straight across, usually done by the individual herself or by a friend, shunning the processed, rubber-stamped appearance of mainstream hairstyles. Jewelry, including facial and other body piercings, is quite common and is kept as natural as is possible wooden and hemp accessories are extremely popular, and are, again, often homemade. Clothes follow suit, ranging from thrift store finds to handsewn skirts and shirts, often comprise
of multiple fabrics combined into one article of clothing. Vintage articles are trendy for members of the emo subculture, including 1970s-style shoes and jackets.

Emo boys often sport shaggy locks, although for males less emphasis is placed on dying the hair black. Men tend to wear too-small t-shirts and baggy pants, often with a studded black belt. The same preference for thrift goods applies, and jewelry still tends to be all-natural and as tight as is possible.
Girls and boys alike wear thick or horn-rimmed glasses and often carry backpacks or messenger bags littered with pins from assorted emo bands or bearing anti-establishment, pro-underground slogans.
Emo dress tends to follow lines of nonconformity almost without exception, but individual styles may vary as long as they continue to emphasize secondhand goods or a general expression of indifference toward current fashion trends.

At my school the most popular dress right now is punk for the girls and skater for the boys.
The boys are usually wearing black, red, or purple cordoury skin tight pants, with their shoes always matching the color of their pants, and the fallen, emerica, circa, volcomn or krew shirts. But, the hottest item right now for them is the FALLEN COBRA FLEECE if you dont have one of thoes then your just no in fashion for them.
The girls well, they are a bit more picky. They are wearing skinny jeans so tight they cant even bend over to tie their own shoes. They shoes are usually converses or vans slips. The shirts are usually a band most commonly fall out boy, afi, panic! at the disco and the academy is.. Most girls wouldnt be caught dead with out thier Dooney and Bourke bags, and every girl has a diffrent one.

heres a poem it was inspired bu one of my friends at a formal dance.

How on earth has this happened?
Oh, how will I fare?
It's the day of the dance,
And I have NOTHING to wear!

What shall I do?
I will go to the mall.
But there are so many choices,
Like Rome I will fall.

Now here is a store,
A perfect boutique;
I must ensure this outfit
Cannot be critiqued.

It must be creative,
And one of a kind.
This one is perfect,
How on earth did I find.

But the size is too small,
The price is too high!
There just is no way
I can hope to get by.

Now this dress is an option,
Several ruffles in blue,
But Hurray! I have found it
Almost exactly on cue!

This little red dress with sparkly straps
Is just what I need.
It's unique and original
The fashion trends I'll soon lead!

I have arrived at the dance
Wearing my cute new clothes;
This fun and unique dress
Will gain compliments I know.

But wait what is this?
Five other girls with my dress!
This couldn't have happened,
It's simply a mess.

Default Working in a clothing store is not as easy as it looks

Working in a clothing store is not as easy as it looks. I never realized this untill I started working in one recently.
Before when I would go shopping I thought their jobs were easy and fun looking. Just arranging clothes on racks every so often and using the cash register. No big deal right?

Wrong! Its MUCH harder than it looks. First of all, using the cash register can be difficult at times. For example if someone is tax exempt, you have to enter that into the till, and you have to enter it in at a certain point in the transaction only or else it screws it up. You have to use your "F" keys ( like the ones on your computer's keyboard) to change the price on items, and you have to rember which key is for which function. Then there is the issue of returns, you have to do everything in reverse when a customer returns an item

Eventually you get the hang of it, but what makes it hard is when you are still learning and you have a customer waiting and getting imaptient.

Another isse is the clothes that people try on and don't buy. They need to be put away. Assuming each customer leaves 5 items and you have 50 customrers thats 250 items that need to be put away in their proper place ( it can be hard to find the proper place when the other employyes change everything around so much on your off days!)

Also you have to go into the change room area and check on customers to see if they need sizes. At the same time you have to put clothes away and ring items through the till .. it can get hectic when there are only 2 people working in a large store

I just wanted to make people aware that it can be a difficult job at times. I think some cuxtomers are like I was and thought it was super easy. I believe if everyone knew that it isn't, everyone who works in stores would have an overall better time, because customers would be more patient

Default I love this store!

In Canada we have a store called Urban Planet.
I love it soo much. They have the cutest clothes there. Everything from pajamas to sports wear to clubbing clothes to business wear. Their prices are really good too, especially on accesories and shoes. I bought a set of 5 bracelets for like 3 dollars, and a pair of leopard print heels for 25 dollars. I was so excited when I went to aldo and saw a simmilar pair for more than twice the price

The store near me opened last spring and I have got so many good deals. they had primp style thermals and hoodies sO I bought 2 of each. I was so excited because we don't have ANY stores in canada that carry primp. I don't really consider them to be fake merchandise ( I hate fakes as much as the next person lol) because they are just hoodies and thermal tops with bunnies on them.
I also bought really nice dress pants there for like 17 dollars. I also got a million clubbing tops, some with belts around the waist, some tube tops, and just recently a really pretty green satin top.

I don't really like to shop at discount stores, because I find that their quality can be low. With Urban Planet that's not he case though. Everything I have bought has stood up really well to everyday wear and washing. The shoes are really comfortable and I find that cheap shoes usually aren't for me.

The best thing though is that the clothes don't LOOK cheap or tacky at all. My friends always think I paid a lot more for them then I actually did.

I love them!!

Default Belle Du Jour

Belle du Jour

Imelda Marcos, one of the most unavoidable people of all time. I don’t know how to elongate this dragon lady’s sorta fairytale. People just adore her too much, and I am loving it up to the extremes of fashion. Who would pass a look seeing her carrying a croc Birkin around 168 mall ( a local supermarket) around Chinatown? No one! Definitely not me. And who would ignore 3,000 pairs of shoes? From made to order Ferragamos during late 70’s up to the highest heels of Louboutin. I envy her, she is so glam.

I got a news from my friend that most of Mrs Marcos' shoes are expensive foreign-made brands and less than 10 pairs were actually made in Marikina. Pairs of her size 8 1/2 shoes obtained by the local museum of Philippines include one with gold trim, another Blahnik studded with rhinestones and two pairs of Chanel knee-high boots one in black and one in white. The museum has been unable to obtain a famous battery-operated pair that blinked when Mrs Marcos danced. The former First Lady, who says she still has thousands of pairs of shoes, has acknowledged she was hurt when her collection became the subject of jokes. She said she once saw a New York shoe shop poster saying: "There is a little Imelda in all of us."

Recently, I saw her walking around 168, wearing a white Filipiniana matched with black shoes, her dior sunglasses and a pompadour hugging her whole structure while carrying her dog venus. She was surrounded by 5 bodyguards with her nanny carrying her black birkin. I was like, WOW! She is a goddess, even though she’s old, I would still love being in her shoes. She is like a living legend for me, she inspires a lot of people, well of course in the name of fashion not in politics. She tops my list as best dressed woman around the globe...

Default Why I love betsey Johnson

I absolutley love her clothes. She is a really cool lady, fun and outgoing and you can see it from the way she designs her clothes. They are always flirty and flamboyant. Always fun to look at which in my opinion is what fashion should be all about. I have never really seen the point in wearing boring plain clothes in ordinary colours and cuts ( unless of course it's for work reasons, then I can understand if you need to look professional)

I am a HUGE fan of her dresses especially. Not only are they cute and sexy, but they are different form any other dresses I see in the stores. Lately I have noticed her dresses have really full skirts, and some with big bows around the waist. They remind me of the white dress that Scarlett O'Hara wore in Gone With The Wind. Only Betsey Johnson could pull off that old fashioned style of dress and make people not only want to buy it today, but also make them look good in it!

I also love how she, as a survivor contributes so much to breast cancer charities. It's a really nice thing to do. She not only makes people look great with awesome fashion but she is also giving something back to society.

She is an amazing woman

Here is a picture of the dress that reminds me of Scarlett O'Hara's

audrey hepburn: fashion icon and a UNICEF ambassador of goodwill

i really love audrey hepburn's style, she is very sophisticated, classy and timeless. she is so beautiful, especially the way she carries herself. she favors wearing dresses, which accentuates her rather very petite and slim silhouette and wears her hair in an updo. i loved her a lot in the movie "breakfast at tiffany's". the role suits her and shows off her amazing acting skills plus the way she dresses up in that movie. really, the little black dress and that pretty hat she wore speaks a lot about her
personality and style. she has been a fashion icon for decades until now. she is a designer's dream for she exudes class and elegance. i will always look up unto her as my fashion icon.
not only that she is a beauty, she also has a good heart. she helped UNICEF to raise $1 million to help children because she
wants to let everyone know about the plight of poor and displaced children in countries all over the world. She also made over fifty field research visits to UNICEF-assisted projects in Sudan, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand, Ethiopia, Sudan, Eritrea, and Somalia. . These trips enabled her to witness first-hand the distressing conditions of children living in war-torn and drought-ridden areas of the world. Determined to raise awareness and badly needed funds, Audrey applied her first-hand knowledge to inform Special Assemblies at the U.N., shared details with various Press Associations, and lobbied on behalf of children to World Parliaments.
In 1993, Sean H. Ferrer, Luca Dotti (Audrey's sons) and Robert Wolders (her companion) created The Audrey Hepburn Memorial Fund at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to commemorate the humanitarian efforts she made as a UNICEF International Goodwill Ambassador.
audrey hepburn will and always be one of the most revered, talented and fashionable personality of all time and for years to come.

Default Oscar Red Carpet

Favorites:
Reese Witherspoon in a gorgeous, layered off-black to purple gown

Rachel Weisz in a cream colored gown with jeweled decollete

Favorite Trend: Lesbians in well-cut androgenous suits, but very feminine fabrics. (Ellen in velvet, Melissa in Satin, etc.)

Favorite person, with unfortunate dress: Jennifer Hudson.
Such a beautiful and sexy gal, but her brown gown's straps just cut into her flesh. She's looked much better at other awards. Love her anyway.

Least favorite hair: Phillip Seymour Hoffman, good actor, atrocious stylist.

What is Fashion?

Fashion is more than a word. It is a sense, an icon, a memory. Fashion conjures up ideas and images unique to each person. Although fashion has cycles and fads, it has no gender or age. Fashion is always with us, good or bad.
A sense of fashion is in the eye of the beholder. What is a “fashion plate” to one, may be a “fashion victim” to another. A prime example of this conflicting opinion is the Punk Rocker of the 1980’s.
We all have fashion icons we love to mimic, from Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, Janis Joplin, Twiggy, and Madonna, to Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Beyonce. These stars dictate what is on the racks and what is on our backs. We embrace this, and long to be as stylish and chic, always watching for the newest trend.
Our fashion memories are viewed in old photos. Our dress, our hair, our accessories are laughed at by our children and grandchildren, only to be replicated when fashion comes full circle. When our children buy the ripped, off the shoulder, sweatshirts, our minds wander to days of Flashdance, and our fond memories are rekindled of how incredibly fashion forward we were….and still are.
Fashion is more than a word. It is an attitude, a frame of mind, and our lifestyle.

Default Choosing a swimsuit

I am really good at finding swimsuits for everyone. I thought I would post my tips since spring break is comming up soon

First of all, decide what your body type is. Are you slim with a boyish figure,( like Nicole Richie) pair shaped, ( big bottom like Jennifer Lopez) full figured ( heavier than average) or top heavy ( with large breasts)?

Ok now that you have decided which one you are here are my tips!

Boyish figure: what you may want to do is add the illusion of curves. You can do this buy wearing a swimsuit (either a bikini or tankini or even a one piece) that has a busy pattern, preferably a large busy pattern such as big polk- a -dots as opposed to small ones. Bright colors are good. Avoid dark colors. Anything with ruffles around the bust is perfect for this body type. String bikinis are not that good for this body type because they are so tiny and can emphasize a pelvic bone that may stick out. It's better to go with a fuller bottom piece. THe kind of top you choose shouldn't matter too much unless it's not super tiny or too tight which can emphasize a small bust. Padded tops are obvioulsy your friend if you have a small bust.

Pair shaped: This body type looks best in either a two piece suit with dark bottoms and a bright or lighter colored top or a one piece that has two main colors to it, dark on the bottom and some other more vivid color on top.
This body type is really easy to work with because all you have to do is minimize your bottom half! Very easily done with dark colours. You may also want to try experimenting with a sarong to wear over your bathing suit, whichever style you choose.

Full Figured: Women with this body type sometimes feel like they can't wear two pieces. They would be wrong. THere are plenty of women who wear them and look really good.
A few points to remember are that if you decide to get a bathing suit with a pattern, smaller patterns are always better. Avoid horizontal stripes. You may want to wear a tankini if you are self conscious about showing too much belly. Dark colors work well with this body type. If you have a large bust, be sure to get a bathing suit, ( whichever style you choose two piece or one piece) with a supportive top. String bikinis often don't work well with a large bust because the strings just aren't strong enough to hold the top properly in place. If you are going for a two piece, defintley choose a top with thicker straps and hook- and eye- closure in the back. ( like a bra has)

Top Heavy: The main point to remember if you have this body type is to be sure you get a top that has good support. String bikinis are again a no no for this body type because you just never know how strong the strings are going to be or if they are going to hold everything in place for the entire day at the beach or pool. With time they loose their elasticity so it's honeslty best to go with a hook and eye closure top, like a bra has in the back.
Huge prints on the bust or ruffles or other details are not a good idea. You might want to pair either a dark top piece with a lighter or bright coloured bottom piece or experiment with tankinis if you are wearing a two piece and really shy about showing too much skin or go with a one piece that has dark colors on the top part and lighter ones on the bottom.

The most important tip for everyone to remember is that no matter what your body type, EVERYONE has flaws and everyone has things that they are not 100% comfortable with.
Don't waste time feeling bad about yourself for any reason, it's not worth it and someone is probably wishing they could trade body types with you because no one is ever completley satisfied.

Default The Muse

Marc Jacobs has Sofia Coppola. Karl Lagerfeld has Amanda Harlech. Marchesa, the label of Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, has Marchesa Casiti. Fashion is all about inspiration and for fashion designers, creativity is crucial and they need someone who continually gives them ideas and stimulates their right brain. There are no set qualifications, as long as a fashion designer is amused by your interesting and charming sense of style, you become a muse. I would love to be a muse. Just imagine, you do not only become the inspiration of a designer, you may be the first one to actually see and maybe even also acquire, the first set of finished pieces. But on second thought, there might also be perils to becoming a fashion designer’s muse. You have to be consistently rousing and thought-provoking and you might never be forgiven for any fashion faux-pas you commit. But in my opinion, being regarded as a fashion designer’s muse is the highest honor given to any woman who highly regards her sense of fashion. It’s the biggest show of appreciation for a woman’s sense of style and manner. When you become a muse, you become a model of how a fashionable woman should be, and should live.

Fashion and Music

The worlds of fashion and music are eternally and indescribably intertwined. Fashion derives inspiration from music, and music is a driving force of fashion. We know all the trends of this century’s generations – bohemian, swinging, mod, punk, grunge, rock. But if we look closer and examine these developments in fashion, we see not only certain styles, but we hear certain sounds. Bohemian and swinging fashions were brought upon by the flower children and hippies of the sixties and early seventies. Soft, free-flowing and without boundaries, bohemian and swinging groupies were the fashion icons of that time, as accompanied by the music of the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and the Beatles. Mod and punk were introduced by the next set of musicians – bands like that of Ramones who first introduced to us that glamorous but cutting edge kind of dressing up. And of course we cannot deny the strong influence of grunge and rock music on our present fashion. This 90’s generation of music was front lined by Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Plaid shirts, Doc Martens and unkempt hair were a fashion - and a music statement. At present, we have the freedom of all this knowledge of fashion and music. Now more than ever, we have the choice of what to wear, and what to listen to. Now, our fashion is no longer influenced by the music of our generation since music has become too wide a genre, and fashion has become too creative a field. There is neither one style nor sound that defines our generation. Now, we have a chance to discover the music we love and the fashion we want to follow.

Default Reasons why people should NOT buy fakes

I know this is fairly obvious to some.. but not everyone knows why we shouldn't buy fakes. People see these purses that LOOK like Louis Vuitton or Chanel and see the cheap price tag attached and think to themselves " why not its a good deal"

It may seem like a good deal but it really isn't. First, look at the quality of the bags. They might seem ok to the untrained eye, but think again. Real Louis Vuitton bags are made of tough, scratch resisitant canvas, with suede lining and leather straps that oxidize ( turn darker) over time. The hardware on these bags ( like the zipper pulls) are all made of brass. Fakes have none of these characteristics.

I know people who have bought their Louis Vuitton bags in the 80's and they still look good today, because they are quality. Fakes fall apart within a year or two, because the stitiching is inferior. I have seen stitiching on fakes actually come undone. The red strip along the handles actually starts to peel off. It's also common for the zipper pulls to fall off and the gold paint to chip. Also within 6 months to a year, the handles will start to turn an odd color due to the fact that they are plastic with paint on top and not real leather. You can see the paint actually start to wear off whereas the authentics bag's handles will naturally oxidize over time and can only look better!

Another thing common in fakes is the use of unsanitary material inside the bags. I have come across everything from old stockings to used bandages ( think bloody) used inside the lining and handles! It may seem surprising but it is true.

When you consider the price of some fakes ( some of the more realistic looking ones can run up to half the price of the authentic versian or more) It's really not worth it.. do you really want to have a bag that is possibly unsanitary, and going to fall apart in 6 months to a year to save a few dollars? I would honeslty recommend saving just a LITTLE longer, and getting an authentic bag that will last you decades and one day may even become a colloctors item. Speaking of collectors, it's common in the Louis Vuitton "community" to collect and research different bags. Real collectors who are serious about the designer generally know a lot about the bags and can easily differentiate between fakes and authentic. So if like some people you are buying your fake to "fit in" or look well off, unfortunatley you won't fool a lot of people because collectors really know their product.

All of this may seem shallow, so I will now get into the more important reasons why people should never buy fakes. Besides being unsanitary and poor quality and tacky as well as blatantly obvious to many, they support child labour and terrorism.
They are commonly made in sweatshops where young children who should be in school work long hours for very little money and in dangerous conditions.
Alot of the time fakes are then sold by terrorist groups who use the profit to plan future attacks which could potentially kill thousands of people.

Are you really willing to abandon all your principles in order to save a few dollars and to be trendy? I think most people are highly opposed to these practices, and with good reason.

It is much better to save a little longer and get an authentic piece. It will last way longer, be better quality and you can have a clear conscience. Plus you will truly being buying a "piece of history". Louis Vuitton and Chanel ( and many other designers) have been around a LONG time. Carrying such designer bags indicates you are a classic and timeless woman, not just someone who wants to LOOK like such a person.
It can be compared to buying art, if you think about it. I don't know any serious collector who would pass up a real Picaso painting for a cheap copy or print. It's not about price or quality so much, but that the painting is an original piece of art that took many hours to complete. Designer purses are considered to be the same way by serious collectors. Pieces of art.

So next time you somewhere and see cheap "designer" bags be sold on the street somewhere, remember these points. And trust me once you have your AUTHENTIC bag you will be a thousand times happier with it that you would be with your fake.

Default What's in for spring 2007

I work in a clothing store, and I get to see all the new spring fashions before they are put on display to be sold.

Some of the key trends for spring are going to be:

*Overalls. I know you are probably thinking "tacky" but paired with the right top, they could look really cute.I think they will quickly become a popular item because they make getting dressed in the morning simple. You don't have to decide on mutiple pieces, just choose which top to wear underneath and that's all

*Skinny jeans. Practically the only style to be seen in this season

* Leggings. This trend is still going strong. Last year and this fall and winter it was all about black leggings. Now we start to see colors and prints.

*Nautical themes. this means white tops with navy horizontal stripes, or in general things that are blue and navy paired together. Anchor prints are really in as well as anything really oceany such as seahorses or starfishes etc.

* Bright colors. Yellow and green are really in this year for brights. Pinks are still going stong as well

* Mini skirts. Denim minis are still in except this year we aren't seeing a lot of distressed denim like in past years

* Stripes. Besides nautical stripes we are seeing other kinds of stripes, sideways ones and different colored ones. Black and white are also really in

*Layering. Still goin strong this season. Think mostly two tanks layered or hoodies with tanks underneath

* Big bags are in this year again

* Shoes that are in this year are peep toe platforms, espadrilles, flats and flip flops.

Some key trends that are out are:

* Boho. Completeley over

*Wooden jewlery

* Juicy sweat suits worn as a set

* Small purses

* Distressed denim

* Bootcut jeans

Default How I wear 80's fashion without looking tacky

As you have probably noticed 80's fashion is in again. There are however certain ways to wear it without looking tacky.

ALways remember to wear at most two to three 80's trends at a time. The last thing you want to do is pair bright eye makeup, huge plastic earrings, leggings or skinny jeans, legwarmers on top and a big shirt with a belt around yor waist!!

Moderation is key. I am a huge fan of 80s fashion and I never get told I look tacky.
Some examples of outfits that I wear are a white sweater with a belt around the waist, skinny jeans and boots. very 80's but also understated.
I like to wear black leggings, a long sparkly blue top and black cowboy boots or flats. The amount of black in this outfit keeps it understated. If I were to wear all brights or match the shoes with the top and add blue earings it would look over the top paired with the sparkly top.

When wearing legwarmers I wear a simple mini skirt, and a tank top layered under a hoodie

The basic rule I try to follow is to pay attention to what color I'm wearing and not let it get to the point where there is too much of it in the outfit or wear anything too outrageous like neon orange and green together. I only add accesories like big earrings or a belt around the waist if the outfit is otherwise quite plain like the jeans and plain white sweater.

It's such a shame when people have really nice pieces that would look great individually but pair them with the wrong thing and end up looking bad.

Hopefully this article is useful to someone. I have noticed for myself that 80s fashion is the hardest to make look good.

Default Good deals at Suzy Shier

Suzy Shier has a location in the mall nearest to me. I decided to take a look around and noticed that they have some really good deals. I thought that these deals wouldn't last but they are actually ongoing promotions that are always in effect.

Some examples are their tanks tops and t shirts. They are always 2 for 15 dollars and you can mix and match them, meaning get a tank and a t shirt for 15 dollars ( you don't have to buy only two tanks ot two tees to get the deal)

They also have an ongoing suit promotion as well. Whenever you buy a blazer you can get the matching pants or skirt for free. It's a really good deal if you are into wearing suits because the blazers are fairly cheap. Everytime I have checked out the store they are under 100 dollars.

I highly recommend checking it out. I know it can be hard to find out about deals like this unless you actually shop in the store. I myself didn't notice this untill I started shopping there and had a look around.

I love helping people out with fashion, so I just thought I would post this for people who are interested

Default My dream wedding dress

My dream wedding dress would be like the kind of dress you would typically see in a fairy tale.
Hopefully I will only get married once and I want to go all out and have a dress fit for a princess.
For starters it would have to be white. Not ivory or off white but pure white, because it's more traditional.
It would have to be full length with details such as pleats or gathering on the skirt. The top part of the dress would have to be tight and bust enhancing. A corset type top would be perfect for this. There would have to be some embelishments like tiny pearls on the top part as well to make the dress look more elaborate. Nothing plain or ordinary looking will do!
The dress would also have to have a VERY long train. I know it seems outrageous but I would like the train to be at least ten or fifteen feet long! Like The dress Princess Diana wore when she got married. The train should also have details like tiny pearls or stones on it. I would want the same thing for the vail, to have embelishments on it.

I would wear this dress with a traditional blue garter underneath and of course I would incorporate the old "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" into this!

I would also wear a pair of clear cinderalla shoes with this dress!!

I know it sounds completely outrageous and over the top, but this would honeslty be my dream dress.

I can't find an example of such a dress but this design is similar to the one I have in mind

It should have a full skirt like this with details such as these roses.. of course this is just an example and the dress I have in mind should obvioulsy be white and full length, unlike this one is.

why i love wristlets so much

i used to haul tons of stuff before, but since discovering this little beauty, i never used tote bag anymore except if i am going on a trip. i only carry my bare essentials in it: cellphone, ID's, CC's, pack of gum, coins, lippy, and small items like sample perfumes, lotions, and what-nots. this little wonder is so cute and functional, that i feel so light whenever i carry it around, especially when i go out to eat, the movies, shopping, getting some groceries. i even use it as a wallet to my bigger bag whenever i travel. i just grab it and go whenever i wanted, wherever i want to, so easy. i am loving my wristlets a lot because now i only carry what is necessary and not bring my whole "house" inside my bag like i used to and i am more organized with my things. and since i suffer from scoliosis, i easily tire from carrying big bags and my husband likes it that i don't carry a bulk on my shoulder because sometimes i let him carry it to ease my back pain!!! i personally and highly recommend this to anyone who wants to ease their life once in a while from carrying huge bags.

Default Girl Gay Boy….Doesn’t Matter!!! Big bags are getting crazier everyday!!!

Girl Gay Boy….Doesn’t Matter!!! Big bags are getting crazier everyday!!! Honestly speaking I do love big bags because it’s practical and I can put everything I need and it’s somewhat like bringing my house everywhere where everything is at ease. It’s so cool having a big bag because it covers your body and it will carry your whole structure by making you look like thinner as ever.

From reworked baskets up to the high-end luxury brands I have, big bags are still the coolest. Just like the Coco Cabas, which Chanel did, it’s like bringing with you your weapons of choice, you can put in your books, laptop, paper works or you can even put your shopping bags inside to make it less hassle. I also think the size is becoming more reasonable, for we had very dramatic almost luggage bags in the last prior season or two. In fact it’s a trend for all women who are bag hags.

BUT!!! If you suffer from headaches, neck and shoulder pain, it is possible your purse could be to blame. Handbags have become more voluminous, and women are filling them up like never before. According to some doctors and physical therapists, it is quickly becoming a painful relationship. These days, many women are as burdened as mail carriers.

Well I suggest things which could shape up your big bags,

First on occasion try to bring a smaller purse or leave the water bottle or something in the car, but funny thing is with everyday life, you just kind of forget and you bring it all with you and you feel it again.

Second because many women have a habit of unconsciously lifting the shoulder that has the purse on it to keep the straps from slipping, it is suggested that women make an effort to square the shoulders or carry the bag toward the front.
HAPPY BAG HUNTING!

Default Entry.

The woman with the most classy sense of style, in my opinion, is Katherine Heigl (Izzy from Greys Anatomy TV Show). That girl KNOWS fashion!

She has a sophistication about her sense of style that numerous celebrities lack now-a-days, for example Britney Spears or Paris Hilton.

At the Emmys Katherine looked beautiful. She wore a vintage Escada dress and her hair was perfect.

She's got a great body and knows what to wear to show off her curves without looking like white-trash.
I'd say she is my current celebrity fashion icon.

Who would You Go for?

It’s really cool seeing these popular trends around the industry nowadays, from bags to shoes to

One revived prints are the Brocades. Brocades can be quite confusing because there are a lot of designs

very delicate yet stylish way.

Many were also captivated by the beauty of the reworked military outfit. Just as before, it’s very catchy and comfortable. With inspirations
from Egyptian and Greek Era, the cold war and the domination of Nazis, things were going round and round.

Christian Dior, Badgley Mischka and
Alexander McQueen got its inspiration from the gothic and renaissance period where brocade prints have flourished itself from the dresses of the
elite class. The prêt-a porter 2007
Ready to wear collection is a perfect example of John Galliano’s work for Christian Dior
where it shows strong colors and intricate detailing from beadworks up to the smallest studs wherein it says “shining-shimmering-splendid” hehe.

How to do it Avante Garde:

Going to the military fashion, Chanel’s latest Haute Couture collection features realistic detailing wherein they put some rusty brass buttons
which creates a
pragmatic and stylish look. It would make you feel like a princess in a battle field…very cute...
Also Oscar de la Renta and Zac Posen made it army-greek-like from their spring collections respectively, wherein it features metallic
colors like black and silver which imitates modern national forces of a
country and portrays somewhat like “vintage meets the future”.

How to do it Military:

For me I’d go for Grunge. Haha…Just kidding. Well of course military fashion, because I love the mixture of bold and metallic colors.
Very free-spirited,
very me! Unlike wearing corsets, where in you have to suffer first and breathe like a panting lion before achieving that look.

I am also going to include pictures of different fashion icons here in the Philippines which shows their love for old style kick-ass trend.
