Oooh - eons ago I visited Ireland during a high school marching band trip. We competed in Limerick and Dublin's St. Patrick's Day parades and won both competitions (to this day one of my biggest achievements, sad, huh??) Band geek!
Anyway, we traveled by bus tour and I still remember that breathtaking trip! Ireland is just gorgeous, so full of history, picturesque and the people are simply delightful! I must say that it rained quite a bit - which is why it's so lush and green there. But we still had fun, especially when we were allowed to go shopping in Dublin!!!

I have a friend who is in Color Guard. She *loves* it, lol.
Ireland sounds beautiful and the history must be amazing. Imagine standing in a building and being told it's thousands of years old. I love that stuff! You can't do that anywhere in the states.
One of my dreams is to travel across Europe, especially after reading your description lol.

My cultural background is Scottish and Ukrainian.
I speak English and I can get by with some French if people speak a little bit slowly.
I find that Native speakers speak too quickly and use a lot of slang. However, I do have an aquaintance here who knows that I can keep up if he uses proper diction and speaks slowly so sometimes we converse in French a tiny bit. I am so out of practice though. I would like to relearn it given the opportunity.
I went to Quebec for a couple of weeks but not to any of the small out of the way places where one is forced to speak French. I spent most of my time there in Montreal and most everyone there speaks English.

I'm from the UK. I speak competent French, and I'm learning Brazilian Portuguese.
I want to learn Japanese one day too, but the writing scares me!

My polish side makes mistakes
I am second generation born american. But my heritage is:
Ukranian from my mothers side and Austrian from my Mother side.
Moscovite ( Russian) from my father mothers side and POlish from Galicia from my fathers Father side.
Now if we travel to great grandparents I am having a DNA sample done, I might be Kurgan.
I blame my bad spelling on my Polish side.............
