Hmmmm, this is a tough one cause it depends on where I am.....
When I was 19 and dating my now husband, we used to like to dance at the bar to Closer by Nine Inch Nails.

Another song that I just love is Dance Naked by John Mellancamp.

A great song to dance to at a wedding or some such function is Stuck in the Middle.

And if I want to jive there's no beating a little Cherry Poppin' Daddies. I wish I could swing dance! LOL!

i love all kinds of genres - rock, jazz, blues, reggae. as for dance - i love the danceable hip hop with fierce bass like "Hey Mr. DJ" and the other hits by Rihanna.

YEAH! <--- me trying to lose weight to SOS!

I love that song especially since I loved listening to Softcell's original song back in the day...

SOS is a really good song to wake you up. That is a good idea. Maybe I will try that from now on. That will really get you perky if you blast that in the morning.

I had not heard of it until one year a friend of mine put it on a mix for me hoping I wouldn't think he was "sick". It is a really good song.

Hey all you dancers....anyone played Dance Dance Revolution on the PS2? I got hooked on it!

Oh, I just thought of another one too.....Nothing beats "The Last Saskatchewan Pirate" especially since I live in Saskatchewan.

Most of you have probably heard the Captain Tractor version of this song but I really like the version done by The Arrogant Worms.

The Arrogant Worms are a group out of Ontario Canada and they are sooooo hilarious. Especially if you get a chance to see them live. One of my favorite songs by them is Jesus' Brother Bob. Makes me smile every time.

I'm really into metal so I do dances like Poison, We Will Rock You, etc. I also really loved The Time Warp from RHPS. I guess I sound pretty sad now, huh?

I used to listen to the hari bands all the time and I still love to go and listen to their old music. I just don't dance to it much.

Funky Music always gets me to moving, when my kids invite friends over they always ask "Want to see my Mom dance" and they play the CD, I try not to, but I just can't help myself.

^ you're such a fun mom, Fizz! I also love funky music and my kids and I were just dancing this morning to Prince's "Song of the Heart" on a kid's program on xm satellite radio. Great song for kids - a positive message, too!

As often as Parenthood isn't fun, you have to take full advantage of the times that are. I tell you, I sure wish kids came with an operators manuel, lol!!

Thank you for the compliment it is very thoughtful. Your reply really made me smile. I'm the youngest of six and the sister closest to my age and I did quite a lot of dancing when we were kids, but our thing was really singing. We have these songs we've been singing to since we were very small and others we picked up along the way. To this day when we get together we belt them out! The really cool thing is we have taught them to our daughters. It's so fun hearing my 11 yr old singing "Billy don't be a Hero", a song that came out in the 70's. You'd never guess my daughters favorite group, The Beatles!!! Isn't that a riot?

The kids father is the real music instructor, I believe he knows every band, solo artist, etc that has ever recorded. It's amazing how much he knows, now if he would only remember to put his dirty clothes in the hamper!
