Default Anyone with HDTV advice?

Can anyone give me advice on HD tv's? We're getting ready to purchase a 46" Sharp Aquos LCD tv. I've done research thru Consumer Reports, Cnet, Epinions and other product review sources. We initially thought plasma would be best but when we saw the LCD irl, we thought the picture was much better. Please share your experiences, thanks!

It sounds like you've done all your research

The one thing I would say is how were you viewing the image? If, for example, you're mounting the LCD on a wall high up, make sure you're viewing it from a similar angle. Consider lighting too - when I bought an LCD I ended up moving my living room around because the glare was terrible in the spot my old TV had lived (opposite a window).

I have no experience with plasma, but if you think that the LCD is better then go for it. Who cares what the review says - it's you who will be looking at it, not the reviewer

Hey Etali - thanks for the advice! You're so right about making the decision based on personal experience. After reading reviews, my dh really wanted a plasma since he's very much into sports, there's less "motion blur" and he thought viewing angle would be better. We went to Circuit City and turns out that, given our price range, the LCD's were MUCH better IRL! So we ended up with the Sharp Aquos (bought online - MUCH less expensive) and yes, you're right about the positioning: we have switched our family room around so that our couch faces the picture window and the tv will be on a stand, situated diagonally in one corner, with its back to two windows so there's no glare. Have to get an HDMI cable tonight and then I think we'll be all set to let 'er rip! Woo hoo!
