Argh, stress!
Argh! I kinda feel the need to vent. I'm due to travel in 10 days and my passport has vanished! I usually carry it with me everywhere as ID. I remember putting it in a bag with some statements I needed to take with me to open a new bank account. Everything else is there, but the passport is gone!
Now I'm terrified I handed it over to get photocopied and they didn't give it back or something...
I'll be going to the bank tomorrow to see if they have it, but for the moment...
ARGH!!!! Why does this always happen to me
Sorry Thanks for reading!

It really is no problem, I find that venting is very helpful in getting through lifes stressful moments. Did you get everything worked out? Wishing you all the best!

Thanks for the support I'll be either screaming or celebrating on here tomorrow after I've spoken to the bank....
I've looked everywhere and it's not at home. I really hope they just forgot to hand it back!

Well, I went to the bank today and it's not there! Now I really, really am getting stressed!
I'm going to be tearing the place apart now. Think I'll have a nice stiff drink first though

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm sure it will turn up, probably in the place you least expect, that's usually how it goes.

Etali! I know that feeling, too! Do you have a backup plan? Can you go to your county seat courthouse, order a new passport and have it expedited???

Woo hooo! Finally found it this morning!
I was about to ring the passport office and find out how much it would cost to get a new one on super-pronto-delivery, but did some chores first.
It was....
In the laundry basket!
I have absoultely no idea how it ended up there. The only places the thing lives are in my jacket (which is leather, so gets professionally cleaned) my bag, or a file of important stuff. I don't even think I was wearing anything with big enough pockets I could have accidentally put it in there the day I lost it.
*shrug* found it now - and the house looks a lot tidier after the clean up / search
I am sooooo relieved!
Thanks for the support everyone

I'm glad you found it too. But really, the P/O method is not a wonderful way to go when you are that very tight for time-the only way you can be sure is to take a whole day out of your schedule and head to Liverpool. It wasn't a bad day out, if you can afford the time.

Wahoo, I'm so happy for you! Now didn't I say it would be in the place you'd least suspect, lol, isn't that how it always goes.

Hehe, I'm still buzzing and happy Went out and bought some plug converters and other bits and bobs, and a tub of bannoffee ice-cream to scoff in celebration.
I live close to Durham, and I gather they do fast passports there too (at least they did a couple of years ago). If I had rang them they'd said I had to go to Liverpool instead then we might have had to call the entire trip off - to show how budget this is, the cost to replace the passport would be more than we're paying for the hotel! Add travel to Liverpool on top and it starts getting far too expensive.
Ah well, time to relax now, then start packing tomorrow.
