Default Could you handle being a celebrity?

I don't think I could. I like my privacy. I would hate for all those camera men to follow me around. It probably would be fun at first but then I want a way out. People are just too crazy about celebs.

I couldn't handle it. I'd go insane having to be at my best all the time, always look good, always being polite and smiling for the cameras - having to watch what I do, eat, say all the time.

No way, I'll stick to being a nobody

I without a doubt couldn't handle it, I'm sure I would lose my top and become fodder for the tabloids for bashing the paparazi's camera's.

Hehe, exactly - I think most people would probably snap being subjected to what the press do to celebrities, and yet when a celebrity does it, they get criticised.

I feel sorry for them in a way.

I definitely couldn't handle it. Imagine having cameras and reporters in your face almost 24-7, always having to look perfect and never getting a moments privacy.

I can't understand people like Jodie Marsh (British glamour model) who crave the whole celebrity thing.

I definitely wouldn't want to be a celebrity.I like my privacy first off.Secondly the paparazzi get a little camera happy and I don't like getting my photo taken. However there are perks though.Like getting all of those great gift bags from magazine companies and all of the cool handbags they carry. But for me,I love being just a regular face in the crowd. So I shall pass on being the next starlet of tomorrow thank you.

No way. I don't think there is a single part of the celebrity lifestyle that I envy or would wish for-not even the money. Too many people that I have known at one time have become ugly people when money came into their lives. I don't think I am any better than they are, so I have no reason to think I could do a better job of managing it.

People seems to think if they had a lot of money all their problems disapear, but that is not true, they just develope new problems. I'm one of those crazy people that have never wanted to be filthy rich.

Nope, I'm happy just like I am. I would worry mostly about protecting my daughter. You can have that stuff. Problems exist regardless of the amount of money you have or don't have.

See, none of us want to live the life of a celebrity because we are NOT NARCISSISTS like many celebrities are! It takes a certain personality - attention-seeking, superiority complex, "I'm God's gift to the world" types. I know that there are nice celebrities who are more level-headed than others and are truly talented actors (like our fave, Reese Witherspoon!) and musicians, etc., but then there are the celebs who THRIVE on being the center of attention.

As for me, I wouldn't mind being a celebrity if I was really good at something (acting, singing, modeling) and the public really liked what I did. I'd love to hang out with other talented, down-to-earth and like-minded celebs and their families, travelling all over the world. But I would probably stay as low-key as possible, like Reese or even Jessica Alba. And I'd try my darndest not to do something embarassing or stupidly outrageous to draw negative attention/bad publicity to myself and my loved ones. Instead I'd try to use my popularity for a good cause - sorta like Angelina and even Salma Hayek. And yes, I would own the most FABULOUS bags my hard-earned money can buy (woo hoo!!!)

But unfortunately, I believe that there are too many celebs, as well as sports figures and even politicians who are not only narcissists BUT also are HIGH thrill-seekers. When the high starts to fade, they need to turn to something else (drugs, prostitutes, crime, affairs) to make their lives exciting again. It's hard to say no when you've got all that fame and fortune. So yes, I wouldn't mind being a celebrity... and if ever that happened, I would buy each of you - my tPP friends - the bag of their dreams since y'all knew me "back in the day"! Hee hee lol...

i think this is the main concern of sensible celebs like reese witherspoon that's why they hate the paparazzi soo much. the children get exposed.

In today's society, just being a "normal" person, it's hard enough to protect your children. I couldn't imagine what's it like for celebs.

Elaine I knew I liked you already and now I just like you that much more. If you get famous, I'll just take a medium sized bag, thanks, lol!

I agree bagcrazy, it is hard to protect you children, I couldn't imagine having to do it in that world.

I think it would be fun to be a celeb for a little while. Then I think I'd get tired of the cameras in my face and all. I mean look at Britney Spears. I feel bad for the girl!

I certainly would like to have the the fortune and the celebrity "power" but you could certainly keep the paparazzi.

I think I would be ok with it. I wouldn't like having a camera always by me...but I think I would do ok compared to some of the stars that we read about with the drugs and whatnot.
