I'm sure everyone has noticed that the UK is now the laughing stock of the world because of our £400,000 logo 'design' for the Olympics - still, I thought I'd ask here what people thought.
I can't believe they paid that much for it and nobody dared point out it was rubbish - it kinda reminds me of the Emperors New Clothes - someone somewhere must have been too chicken to tell the designer it's rubbish, and it's gotten so far the powers that be just daren't turn back...
I do wonder what was wrong with the image they used for the bid - that was perfectly nice - timeless, and simple - why change it?
Call me crazy but i kinda liked it.But on the other hand with that much money on the line it could have been much better. Are they going to go back and do another logo?
You're the first person I've heard say they like it!
I don't know if they're going to make a new one - there is a petition for them to keep the old one, but I think they'd loose face if they did that.
They have had to remove a part of the animated version of it (where someone dives into a pool with multi-coloured water ripples) because it was triggering epilleptic fits.
Makes you wonder how much research and testing went into it - for that price you'd think they'd have looked for that kind of thing.
