Default Ordering Online

I've ordered somethings online and not had any major problems, but recently I ordered a gift for my husband and they said it would take 5 to 8 days for delivery. It took 10 days! Totally frustrating and I just wanted to vent. Anybody else have some online ordering frustrations or horror stories?

Did you order the gift from a store-type website, or from a website like Ebay?

I sell items on Ebay, and sometimes I get complaints about shipping. It kind of frustrates me, because I ship items on time, but can't guarantee that the post office will get them there when they say they will.

I've always had good experiences with online shopping, even from ebay. The only time something went wrong was when a CD showed as 'in stock', but in reality it was out of stock, so took a couple of weeks to arrive.

I was shopping at a golf accessories website. It took them 3 to 4 days just to process the order. Xaphania, I've had that happen, but the website that I ordered from called and asked me if I would accept an alternative (at no extra cost) and it was promptly shipped.

I have!!!! But sometimes it's not the store's fault it could have been over a holiday or something with the post office or something like that. Also be sure to look at the lingo they use. If it says guarenteed in 5-8 business days, then it can take up to 2 weeks...but if it doesn't say guarenteed that's just an estimate. I work at B+N and we have to make sure not to promise them that it will be at their houses by a certain day because the post office is not as reliable as everyone would like to think (mainly with just getting packages on time)
