Free Directory Assistance on Your Cell?

I received an interesting email about cell phones the other day.

One of the facts stated was that you can avoid charges for directory assistance by punching in 800-free-411 or 800-373-3411.

Has anyone here heard of this or tried it?

Please excuse me for responding to my own post, but I've since confirmed that this works at Snopes.com.

Apparently the service is paid for by some advertising. I still haven't tried it, but I will.
