Please Read Before Buying Online!!!
Hello Ladies. I was just scammed. Here is my story. Well after receiving a tax refund I had money burning in my pocket - er handbag! I eagerly jumped online to find a handbag. This would be my fifth online handbag purchase. I have had no problems until now. I thought i was rather knowledgable about fake bag, scammers, etc. However, when you are driven by WANT you are often blinded. So yes I was taken but please don't do what I did. I found a Gucci princy tote from Xpressdesigner.net. They had great photos and offered money back guarantee. The claimed to be authentic and well their prices were great. They claim to deal with overstock, past season and discontinued items. Ok sounds good. I mean that is how the retailers do it right? Well when my bag arrived it was a fake. It was tricky though. It did arrive with a dust bag and all the standards (controllato card, care care, Gucci story...) Hardware had all the little details - Gucci name, little screws. What gave it away was the leather - not the best. Right away I had a bad feeling but headed over to the Gucci Boutique to make sure. My bag was close but no. The bag on the site was not what they sent me. I e-mailed the company and it took them forever to respond. When they finally did they were very vague and referred to me as "Dear Customer" rather than my name which was all over the e-mail. I checked the address of the company and 3 possibilities came up. uh oh. They had no phone number on their site - uh oh. When reading their return policy it was full of spelling errors - oh no!! Oh and here is the kicker when I entered the P O box address a place called Ybags shows up - a place that sells "AAA" REPLICAS!!! My heart sank!!!!!!
LADIES PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE BUYING ONLINE!!! There are legit companies out there but there are also a lot of scammers!!!!!
I know I know. I made a HUGE mistake!! I acted on impulse!!!! I was so STUPID!!! I made a $300 mistake!!
CHECK OUT THE COMPANY INSIDE AND OUT!!!! Check with the BBB!!!
Make sure they have more than just one way (e-mail) to reach them!! Phone numbers, and address should be posted on the home page!!!!
ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS!!!!
JUST BECAUSE A COMPANY SAYS THEY SELL AUTHENTIC DOESN'T MEAN THEY DO!!!!! CAN A COMPANY LIE? YES!!!
YES IT IS ILLEGAL BUT IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME!!!!!
IF YOU DO BECOME A VICTIM FILE A CLAIM WITH THE BBB, FILE A CLAIM WITH THE LOCAL POLICE DEPT (WHERE THE BAG WAS SHIPPED OUT OF), AND FILE A CLAIM WITH THE IC3 - FBI'S INTERNET COMPLAINT CENTER!!!!
COUNTERFEITING IS DEPLORABLE AND IT NEEDS TO BE STOPPED AND WE CAN DO IT ONE CONSUMER AT A TIME!!!!
