What's a good giveaway prize?

I want to do some giveaways.
I want to give a small weekly cash prize to people who subscribe to our feed (the "subscribe" orange button on the right of the blue bar up top).

I also want to give prizes away to people who refer their friends to our forum, AND to people who list items for sale in our marketplace. So thats 3 weekly prizes!

Would it be better to give $50 a week to each person who wins, or $25 to each winner, but having double the winners?

If I do $50 then we'll have 3 winners a week each getting $50.
But if I do $25 then we'll have 6 winners a week, each getting $25. I dont know if $25 is too small, but then more people win.

Thoughts...?

Personally I rather have a small money win with more chances at winning. My odds are a tad better that way. Unless there is a rule that you can only win within a certain amount of time before winning again.Then the larger amount is fine and the odds are still pretty good.

I probally am the wrong person to ask since any giveaway sounds good to me.

I agree with the others. Smaller amounts so that more people can win. People love to win cash prizes. How will you pay? Paypal? I'm looking forward to this!

In the past I did checks for cash prizes, and just UPS'ed the bags that the winners won. I could PayPal or send checks, either works.

Maybe you can alternate cash prizes and gift prizes, you can also alternate the number of winners each week. For example: Week 1 will have six winners of $25 each, Week 2 will have 3 winners of $50 each, Week 3 winners will win a small purse/wristlet? Just my thoughts.

Hi Marco, I'm new to the forum and it seems like a great place to list items since I sell used (mint condition) bags, which are mostly Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Hermes, in the winter months if sales are well in the marketplace here we could definetely donate a prize such as a wallet or something. The forum is great so far, Keep up the great work!

i like the idea of alternating 3 winners one week and 6 the other but to save time and delivery costs maybe ebay gift certificates would work?
