Default Urban Legend, For Real?

Do you remember the urban legend about the gang initiation where gang members would drive at night with their lights off, waiting for someone to flash their lights at them, so they'd then follow the person who flashed their lights and shoot at them? It was in the movie Urban Legend.

Well I received an email that suggested that was actually happening now, and I'm not sure how to take it. The email came from an acquaintance who's a retired police officer, and the forwarded email supposedly came from an RCMP officer.

Have you received anything like that?

I've heard this as well, but in conversations rather than through e-mails. My older kids are in their twenties and travel significantly and say this is true in areas where there is noted gang activity. Scary!

Yep, we heard this but through conversation and it's happening in the city of an area we live. Gang violance has been on the rise in two major areas. There is almost always a shooting, hit and run, or drug deal gone bad lately. It's depressing to watch the news. I hate driving down town and luckily we really don't go down town unless going to the hospital, walking along the river front, going to the court house or some place thats located there. It's not to often luckily.

It wouldn't suprise me, they probably got the idea from the movie! I don't know why people don't seem to respect each other anymore! It's a scary world out there!

Default it happened here in KNoxville

It made teh news abouta week ago. An SUV was drivingw ithout headlights and an oncoming car had flashed. They found that car ina ditch rolled over and two people shot.
The Stte troopers issued a notice in teh paper that a driver should not flash headlights at on coming cars. Instead if they suspect, pull off and let it pass.
That wa slike tehonly oincident we have had with that.

What is real scary is the rogue truck drivers. My father was run off teh road by an unmarked big rig.. a car in front of him was found down a side and the people strewn.. teh rig just kept following them,, i guiess when he was happy that he accomplished something he went on.......
this was about 25 years ago...

I really think this happens more then people think and more then people hear about on the news. Not necessarily the shootings but people running people into ditches, deliebertly crashing into them and so on. I know my husband and I personally called in a few people due to reckless driving. We saw one guy almost hit 3 vehicles, and was weaving in an out, speeding and then he almost hit another car. We got his liscense plate number and called and reported him. We've seen so many things happen like that. No wonder I hate driving.
