Default How many layers...

When I was working in a cold environment I always had this dilemma of layering my clothes. I am not used to cold temperatures since I am from a tropical country. So my question is: What's the best way to layer clothes without looking like you have your entire wardrobe on?

stick with complementary colors and don't layer more than you need to. you won't look like you have your entire wardrobe on if you know how to carry yourself also

You can also first wear on the base or first layer a thin clothing or an undergarment that's preferably made of polypropylene. Next layer is the insulating one like fleece and the like. Third is a windbreaker or a waterproof jacket. Of course, it all depends on what you are doing.
