YSL downtown purple suede - buy/not?!

i found the most gorgeous YSL small downtown in a limited color of purple degrade suede...and wondering whether or not to make THE purchase?

just thought i'd like opinions of other likeminded people out there... i know the downtown is classic as cream or black - do you think purple is too much?!
