New York Fashion Week Runway Report: Marchesa
By: Erin D.

The reigning it girls of evening girls,
Marchesa, kept the momentum going with their small fall
ready-to-wear show at New York’s Fashion Week. Though a few gowns were way too poufy and cupcake-like, for the most part the collection presented the looks that the label is known for: Grecian empire waists, draping fabric, and youthful leg-baring cocktail dresses. Many will surely turn up on the red carpet in no time - I especially loved one short white feathered frock that was more beautiful swan than Bjork’s ugly duckling. The designers even threw in a few upscale satin pantsuits for good measure. It will be interesting to see how the brand develops as they experiment away from the tried-and-true Empire waists and present larger collections in the future.
