New York Fashion Week Runway Report: Jill Stuart
By: Erin D.

It’s amazing what a bit of patent leather can do. While many consistent themes emerged in the myriad
New York Fashion Week fall shows - dresses with pockets, fur, military buttons, menswear influences -
Jill Stuart’s darker, hipper
ready-to-wear collection stood out from the pack. Bright blue broke up a mostly black color palette and provided some fun eye candy. The outfits themselves were fairly simply but sleek - chic black minidresses were trimmed with patent leather; high-waisted sailor pants were shown in that bold blue hue; and big black buttons appeared on almost everything. Yes, there was fur, and some plaid too, but they were presented in a sexy, urban rock style that was truly unique. Loved it.
