New York Fashion Week Runway Report: 3.1 Phillip Lim
By: Erin D.
3.1 Phillip Lim is one of my favorite labels, their N
YC ready-to-wear show had plenty to drool over. The beauty of Lim’s work is his amazing construction - everything is sophisticated and simple, but with a hint of cutting-edge design. He also thinks about what women want, so everything is comfy, not too clingy or revealing, and very wearable. Case in point: He ended his show with darling red and blue strapless dresses paired with blazers to keep those girls warm in the cold weather. The dresses were a nice contrast to the dark-hued menswear-inspired collection, which featured wool military-style coats and blazers, roomy trousers, loose tunics, and prim blouses hidden underneath. Lim also added red plaid and denim to his designs, really evoking an autumn feel.
