The message to this
Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2007 show seemed to be “Cinched, cinched, cinched”. Each and every look during this show had the waist bound or corseted as tightly as possible. The woman this season catered to seemed to be a severe dominatrice. Lots of shiny black, corset looks, metallics, a few leopard prints. Even the more wearable coats and suits had a severe cut and were accessorized with a patent leather waist cincher. There were several dramatic pouf dresses and coats, but again, they were cinched with the same patent corset belt. I would have liked to see at least the waist cinch re-interpreted a few ways at least? Different colors? Different materials? It was bad enough we had to see in EVERY look… it distracts from the rest of the outfit, which I’m sure was exquisite. Unfortunately, when there is so much emphasis on the same item, you don’t remember the rest.
