Default do you bother buying non-designer brand?

yes, i just bought a really adorable wristlet at payless for $10, and i really looks well made to me plus the fact that it is so roomy and quite big for a wristlet and can also double as a clutch. it is also made in faux pebbled leather which is really soft and light. do you ever mind buying low-end bags with a lower price or do you think that can make you look cheap?

I think quality is the important thing. It doesn't have to cost a lot to look good. Especially if you want something you know you will only use for a season. That can save a lot of money!

i agree. the first thing i consider is the style, then the price..if the high price is justified by a classic design then ill buy it. if its just a trendy bag id definitely pass..

i like buying what i like and what i think i will be able to carry off...ofcourse the quality is of utmost importance and then comes the price factor...it isnt always necessary for me to go for a branded thing..

I have a small leather bag I bought while on holiday in America, it has backpack style shoulder straps, but can also be carried like a purse.

It isn't a brand name, but I think it is gorgeous - it has lots of compartments, and it's easy to keep everything neat.

The fact it looks a lot like a backpack helps with my tomboy-ish style too.

My thing is...I rather buy a cheap bag from like TARGET than buy a fake imitation.

I totally agree! Mossimo has some cute stuff at Target. Last summer I bought one of his cute red satchels that was pretty trendy, actually but with my coupon only $18.00. For me, I'll buy something that's cheap yet stylish (for ex. Kohl's has cute stuff) because it might be out of fashion the next week. It's true you get what you pay for. If something is classic-looking, fairly unique, stylish and has longevity... then it's worth the investment, I think.

i think what H&M and Target are doing, by getting high end designers to create low priced products is really great..because we get to enjoy that high end style at a big discount

I think it's fine. You can get really good quality, cute non brand name handbags at a lot of places

I wouldn't ever consider only the price or designer when buying a bag.

the cheapest i'll ever go is something from Kathy Van Zeeland (usually around 80ish) or Dooney or something thats higher end at TJ Maxx, Macy's, or Nordstroms. I tend to only buy designer things though.
