Large but smart bag?

I'll be flying to Sweden in May for a conference, and the airline I'm using only allows hand luggage.

I need to travel light, I'll be away for three nights, and I'd like to carry my hand luggage in something smart / neat looking.

I'll be being met by clients at the airport, and heading straight to a networking event, so I'll be carryin my bag around for a while.

Unfortunately, the only bag I have big enough to fit everything in is a tatty shoulder bag I used to use for uni stuff.

Can anyone suggest something smart enough it could look like a large purse, but easy enough to carry around?
