Default Smart Clothes That Travel Well?

As I said in another post, I'm making an important business trip in May.

I'll be doing a 6 hour coach ride, then an hour long train ride, then an hour long flight, then meeting some people I really need to impress.

I usually look a right state after travelling, but I won't have much time to fix myself up before meeting these people in arrivals.

Anyone got any tips for clothes that look good after a days travel?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Etali,

When I traveled for business, I found that some of my silk suits (I love Jones NY and Tahari) were great. Plus, I also wore nice trousers and silk twin sets with pearls. But it depends on your own personal style. Try not to carry more than one bag - either just a briefcase or a large tote/purse, not both.

I noticed you were looking for advice on luggage. Here's a site with great sets:

Thanks for your response. I really like the look of some of the Diane von Furstenberg sets.

I'll definitely be only carrying one bag - its a budget airline and that's all they allow

I don't usually wear suits, but I had a quick look at some Tahari ones and they have some cuts that look comfortable and my kind of style, so I might pick one up if I can find one in my size.

Thanks for the suggestions!

also put in mind how you pack your things. there's a certain way of packing where you can minimize the wrinkling of your clothes..

Don't know if you want to chance this BUT... sometimes you can drag a small wheeled garment bag all the way into the plane and then ask a stewardess to hang it up in a closet. I haven't done it but I know others who have, that is on the commercial airlines like Continental, etc. Also keep in mind that hotels will dry clean or launder clothing for a fee.
