Default Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2007 Collection

Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2007 Collection

By: Mariana L.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s rep has always been the bad boy punk of Paris. In the early 1990’s, Madonna’s stylist and friend, then later on, as part of the duo to host a television show aptly named “Eurotrash”. This season, he does the Tartan/Punk thing which is following the trend, and most of the pieces sport well made, classically tailored items that give you a young, but upscale quality look. However, in the past, we always looked to this designer as the trendsetter, the rule-breaker, NOT the guy who produced whatever the market currently demands. Tartan/punk has already been done and done pretty damn well by Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen already. JP, I’m only this harsh because I know you’re capable of so much more.

I agree with the writer... i think jean paul gaultier is a genius but he has to translate his creativity into something more realistic..

The second outfit is really spiffy! So much for the rule of only wearing hosiery always being lighter than shoes...

Yesss.. that's the one! I fell in love with it in a funny way, too. many moons ago I was working a second job at a popular steakhouse as a waitress and at one of my tables was a very attractive african american couple. he looked so in love with her and she was so chic, beautiful but demure. so as i was clearing some of their plates, she opened a present he gave her and the perfume was in a tin can container, which she opened (i know i sounded like a nosy waitress but they didn't seem to mind me watching) and then she pulled out this beautiful perfume bottle. her eyes lit up as did mine and he was happy she liked it. i then paid him compliments for the wonderful gift and told her she was a lucky woman. then he said to his girl, "let her smell it" and she graciously sprayed some on my wrist. wow - i was instantly taken aback! and that's how i became a fan - i guess i not only love the fragrance but it makes me think of that blissfully romantic and happy couple. i told her that she was very blessed to have him and then when they left, they gave me a very generous tip!

That's a cute story! In fact, I wore Jean Paul Gaultier's fragrence today and have been doing so for quite some time - they smell so good.
