Roberto Cavalli Official Website: fashion on the net.
This Roberto Cavalli Fall 2007 collection seems to have been inspired by an elegant gaucho. The muse here is a tough, but sophisticated woman who runs her ranch with style and dignity. The very feminine fabrics of chiffon, crepe and satin, as well as leathers and furs are off-set by the masculine silhouettes. There are plays on Native American patterns and prints along with dressed-up versions of riding pants. There are a few stunning embroidered gowns in this collection as well, for when the ranch queen wants to leave the dirt and walk a red carpet. The looks from this show definitely looked comfortable, had a distinctive character, but not to the point of costume. That’s a very fine line when creating a custome AND press-friendly collection.
this is a very surprising collection from cavalli!! there's no hint of flamboyance or excess..its very streamlined and controlled...
I was thinking the same thing! Although some of the pieces are classic Cavalli and the more calm pieces have details that are pure Cavalli. Very reserved overall for him.
