Straps for a LV Speedy 30 or 35?

I am wondering if someone(s) very knowledgable about Louis Vuitton can help me out. I am going on a two month trip around Canada and the US this summer and we are backpacking-- but I also want to bring along a great bag that can carry a lot of stuff for the actual bus but also would be great as a purse---eg. not too big like a Keepall 55. So Im really liking the Speedy 30-- but I think the 35 is even better for me because I like big bags. The thing is-- I need to be able to carry the bag around my body because I like to keep my hands free. So Im looking for some advice on the straps that are sold separately. Ive seen some that are long enough to go around the body and say they can be attached to the Speedy-- but how well does this actually work? Ive also seen some straps that have a nice shoulder pad that looks very appealing. So-- how do Speedys with straps really compare. If it doesnt work out for me-- Im thinking of buying the discontinued Saumur 43-- any advice on this too would be great! Thanks!
