wellllll, my hubby and i had a long and honest discussion last week about treating ourselves with our surplus funds - using $xxx.xx each to buy whatever we wanted, no questions asked. he agreed. so i did tell him that i had two bags in mind, one of them would be a rafe (and i went into a diatribe about how he's filipino and whatnot) but there are a couple of rafe styles (both leather) and i wasn't sure which one i'd like so i ordered both from zappos.
the next day, i searched ebay and found the the rafe bag i REALLY
wanted for summer - a new with tags astor linen and natural leather trim gina tote! i won the auction YAY!
that night and i disclosed everything to hubby, mentioning that it was only $138 but retailed for $525. he was very happy for me.
so yesterday the leather rafe bags from zappos came in and i didn't like them so much - too big. when hubby came home, i showed him the rafe bags as well as the paddy and said that i was going to keep just one, plus the ebay rafe i won, and ship back the other two that i don't want, for a return credit (plus it was free shipping both ways, i added, being a very frugal-minded wife *chuckle*).
i didn't tell him which bag i wanted to keep, but asked him his opinion on all three. lo and behold, he chose the paddy!
as did my kids who loved playing with the padlock. and so i told him i agreed with him (what's an obedient wife to do? disagree with her man when he is soooo right???), and promised i'd return the others and that these two new bags will also fulfill his gift requirement for mother's day... 'coz that's just the kinda wonderful and unselfish woman i am
to this lucky man... *WHEW!*
so this morning i told him that i was so happy with my new padlock bag and that i was going to get on the purse forum and tell everyone about it and maybe post pics. know what he said? "they probably won't like it because of that huge padlock."
