look way into the bag - maybe in the inside pocket or the lining or somewhere... perhaps there was a security device? also if there's a tag, you might have to cut off a part of it. i know that's where banana republic places their sensors - on the tag that either says the brand or the washing instructions. otherwise, call zara! good luck... i agree that would be very annoying and embarrassing for me, too!

I agree that you have to have a security device of some sort in there, an RFID or something. Perhaps if it happens at a store where the staff are nice you can try and figure it out-if its a quiet day. Maybe they can help you search and remove things. Just a thought.

oh yes! i went to my local meijers grocery and the sensors went off after i got out of the grocery then this lady approached me and complimented on how great loooking the bag is and then she asked if i want to de-magnetized the device in my bag ( which i have no idea if there is or what it is) and she tried to use a sensing device and it bleeped on one of the pockets. then she said that she turned off/killled the device/sensor that's in my bag and when i got out, the sensors beeped again!!! she just laughed and said " next time you're here, i know that it's your bag"

angel - like you said before - definitely ask your sister for the name of the store where she purchased this bag from. then call the store (or she can do it) and ask them where the security device is! better yet, if that store is in a nearby mall, then go there : ) i never knew that there was a security device on the cloth tag on my banana republic clothes - but i guess they deactivate it upon purchase. when i brought home the clothes, the cloth tag says "cut here" so you can remove the security device embedded in the cloth tag.

i asked her and called sta monica zara and the girl told me that their security thing is on the price tags. she doesn't have any idea why it is happening. oh well anyway, i'll just bring it over to other store that has a de-magnetizing plate. thanks for all the help ladies!!!!

The only other thing I can think is that you have some kind of way funky magnet in the closures of the bag. Did you inspect the pocket that made it beep yourself? Did you notice anything at all that might look suspect?

I had a problem like this with a pin badge that was constantly setting off alarms. It turned out that the badge was really really strongly magnetised, so it's probably just the magnets doing it. I'm not sure if there's anything you can do about that without damaging the bag
