VOTE: which red bag?
Well, I'm searching around for my next bag which will either be my Christmas or (hopefully) Oct. anniversary gift from my dh.
Right now, I'd love to add a bordeaux bag to my collection! I've narrowed the choices to the following:
1. Guccissima Bouvier Hobo - Bluefly $771
2. Balenciaga Mid-Afternoon - Diabro $926
3. Dior Gaucho tote - Diabro $841
It's got to be sassy, stylish, have staying power and amazing leather! Well, what do y'all think??? Are there any other bags I should consider???

Thanks Dianne! It's the Balenciaga and it's a really nice size. Some people love the leather, others think it looks cheap. I have actually never seen a "Bbag" in person. Has anyone else?

okay... i received the gucci bouvier and it is really GORGEOUS! i really just wanted to see what the fuss was about the guccissima so i ordered off of bluefly coz it was a free return ($7.95) for shipping. WOWEE! Well, I'm gonna return it and just hope my dh can get it for me for christmas or hopefully by October anniversary OR if not, i think i may wait for my ULTIMATE red bag wish: this red jimmy choo tote: Jimmy Choo Belted Bag*-* Handbags*-* Bergdorf Goodman

Update: Well, I've decided to return the gucci bouvier after all! I have found what I've been searching for - a new with tags RED CHLOE CHAIN BETTY for $510!!! What do y'all think??? I can still return this within 7 days after I get it so we'll have to see what it's like IRL...

Thanks for the feedback, Marco, Angel, Kitsch and Kelli! But honestly, if I worked in an office everyday, the Gucci would have been perfect. But since I'm a fulltime stay home mom, I only work part-time (mostly from home), and I'm going to grad school next fall... the Gucci is actually a little too dressy for my casual life style. And since it's got pointy edges on the bottom and I can be pretty careless with my bags, I know it'll be frayed in no time. I hate to let it go, but I wasn't 100% in love with it. Especially the leather. Once you own a chloe choco paddy with cool details.... it's hard to turn back! So I'm going for another Chloe instead. We'll see if this ends my search for the perfect red bag!

kitsch - i wish i could somehow authenticate it! i got it off ebay for a steal (if it's real). if it's authentic, then i'd like to sell it on ebay...but if not i'll just return it but unfortunately there's a 10% restocking fee : (

hi elaine! i'm not sure if you've made a decision yet, but i'd love to throw in my 2 cents
i say...BALENCIAGA ALL THE WAY!! i'm a little biased, of course, because a balenciaga city will be my next purchase. i know nothing about the mid afternoon...have you ever considered a city? they can be hand held or carried on the shoulder, and they hold a lot (by my standards anyway)! the city is about 10"h x 15"w x 3.5"d.
as far as the color goes, bal has a ton of delicious reds! they are to die for!! obviously, since bal discontinues their colors after every season, you'd have to look to ebay to find the past reds (rouge vif and rouge theatre are my favorites!) sometimes there is old stock left over, so if you find a past red you love, then call around and see if anyone has it in stock. also, aloha rag carries bbags and they are wonderful to work with! to find out what they have in stock, email love@aloharag.com.
bal is releasing a red called "rouge" (aka "tomato") for the fall season. you might want to check into that as well! i think all 3 types of hardware are available (regular, giant gold, as well as the new and fabulous giant silver).
okay, well...i hope you made it through my ramblings!!

Middle one as well. Wow. I couldn't even begin to think of spending that much on a purse. It's uncomprehensable to me.
But good for you!

I originally would have gone with the gucci but I understand why its no longer a choice. The bbag is my next choice-the third in your first post looks too much like a saddle, looks like a cowgirl should be carrying it.

and the winner is: rouge medium paddington! i also bought a wonderful white chloe patsy - just gorgeous soft and supple lambskin!
but all those other chloes in the background are NOT mine - they were promptly returned (along with the gucci and the other bags!) for a full refund because the edith style was too structured for me. so with three chloes, i think it's clear that i am a bonafide and insane chloe addict!
i will soon be selling off many more of my bags on ebay just to keep up my habit

I really like the Balenciaga and the Dior...they're all so different though, I guess it depends on how funky you want to go! Because the Dior has a funkier kind of aesthetic about it. I think I would go with the Bbag.
The Chloe is great too though!

Gucci 85th Anniversary in snake skin
I would consider this other bag, it is made in snake skin, has red and green and meets all the characteristics you are looking for.
On top of that it is a collection bag, and the price is great check it on this link

I think you should consider large chanell tote bag in soft lamb skin leather with large cc on front of bag with double gold chain strape-- always looks classy, fashionable and never out of style-- cant go wrong with this one, but be prepared to up the cost--lol
