I didn't until I got a job at the age of 16. Then I could go out and buy what I could afford which wasn't much. Even to this day I buy from the sales racks.

I was 14 or 15 when I found my style - I started experimenting a couple of years before then, but to be honest I looked like an idiot. I still can't afford the kinds of clothes that I like, but I have a few really special pieces that I hold in reserve for special occasions.

I was about 12 when I started to choose what I wore, but my mother still bought everything. I only got to choose what was bought when the shopping was done with my own money. And as I got older and things got tighter, I even had to buy my own winter coat and shoes and so on because my family couldn't afford it. So then I had complete control...

I think I was about 12 or 13 when I started to really want to choose my own clothes and not what my Mum liked.

Sometimes I look back at photo's of when I was younger and cringe at the clothes my parents dressed me in!

I suppose I'm pretty close to normal. I believe I was in between 12-14. The older I got the more interested in fashion I got.

So much to buy, so little money to spend. Such a tragedy, haha!

I hear you Kitsch, I always know when something is really expensive because it's always the first item I go to. It never fails and of course I can't afford these goodies.

I think I was born caring about fashion. My mom says that I used to insist on picking out my own outfit to go to preschool and that I would only wear dresses. She wanted to dress me in those awful OshKosh overalls--thank god I had more fashion sense than her back then!

I think my daughter is like that PrettyinPink. We went to the beach over the weekend and she totally cracked me up when we dropped by the store to pick up some sun block. She saw a pair of flip flops and said "I need those, they match my suit!", it was such an instinctivly girl thing to say.

Yes, but I have to teach her to think it and not say it to her Dad. He pointed out that buying something because it matches isn't going to happen. It's all a matter of wording with him. hehe
