Default Smart Cargos?

I have a pair of black cargos that I love wearing to trade shows - they have 10 pockets, all different sizes, some with zips, some without - I can carry two cameras, my phone, PDA, spare batteries, spare memory sticks, cables, and business cards in those pockets without fear of them falling out or me putting them down somewhere and losing them.

That leaves room in my laptop bag for my video camera, laptop, and notebook.

The problem is, the cargos have huge metal zips on the pockets and a trendy coloured mesh over some of the pockets. They also look really cheap.

I've been scouring shops looking for some 'smart' cargos, but such a thing doesn't seem to exist. I can find camo coloured ones, and even more childish looking ones, but nothing plain black and made out of a good quality material.

Surely there must be some demand for this sort of thing? When I was a systems administrator my colleagues in the same department always lamented the fact that the dress code forbade cargo pants - they are so useful to techies that need to carry the entire stock of Maplin around with them at all times :-p

If anyone has seen anything that comes close to what I'm looking for I'd really appreciate a heads up - I hate having to dash to sit down at a meeting because I look like I belong on the beach, not a meeting room.

Try Old Navy. I've seen some simple ones there.

Thanks for your response. Old Navy are a part of Gap aren't they? I don't think we have any Old Navy stores here in the UK, but I'll keep an eye open next time I'm travelling, or try eBay for Old Navy stuff too...

I don't think they are related but I could be wrong. I haven't seen anything like the number of pockets that a techie would need in Old Navy but you could try. If you found something and were willing to pay postage I'd be willing to ship them to you if you bought them online and sent them here. But I think you'd be better buying in person since you'll need to know the pockets are secure.
