Default Jewelry Coordination

How hard do you work to make your jewelry look right? I tend to break a lot of rules, mixing gold and silver together which I absolutely love. I am told that is a no no. But who cares, I like it! I have pieces that are family heirlooms and no they do not match. But they are not meant to-they were made up to a couple of hundred years apart!

So is this no longer considered the wrong thing to do? I have never been able to understand or keep to the rules of fashion, I always just did whatever I wanted. So I guess this is another thing that I am behind on.

Yes, it is totally acceptable to mix gold and silver. As for jewlery, I keep it simple---you'll only see me in diamonds and pearls.

I was lucky to inherit my grandmother's diamond, which i had set in a pendent on a necklace. I always joke that my future fiance will have to buy me a diamond that is at least as big as this one, even though it is a little under 2 carats.

I also mix gold with silver. Sometimes you can even buy jewelries that have them together in one piece, probably their not silver but white gold, but still it looks silver if you mix it with gold. So I guess it really doesnt matter if you use them together.

I love mixing gold and silver, it looks good together as long as the pieces blend...but I have a ring that has silver and gold in it and it looks amazing.

Personally, I don't really follow any of "fashion rules". People should be able to wear whatever jewelry they want. Just remember never to overdo it though (no tiaras, please.) :-)

You have to be careful when mixing gold and silver. You can do it but you have to make sure one doesn't out weigh the other.

You silver should always blend in with your gold which means that you should over shadow your silver with your gold.

gold and silver is not a perfect combination so dont mix the two they are really opposite element that must not wear at the same time.

I think fashion "rules" are meant to be broken, explored, whatever you want to call it. If something looks good or you feel confident wearing it then go for it.

I wear vintage pieces all the time and I get complimented all the time.

When a piece of jewelry is a mix of gold and silver, I think that's fine. For instance I have a diamond ring with yellow gold, and I love that look. But as far as mixing say a gold braclet with silver rings.....it's a big no-no in my book....just looks off and uncoordinated.

I mix my gold and silver jewelry to a point.I love long strands of pearls and long gold chains. It adds that Coco Chanel classy look.I only have my wedding bands and one diamond ring that was left to me when my cousin passed away.
I follow my own rules and wear what appeases my tastes. So i guess one can say i am ecclectic and such, but i don't care.As long as you like mixing your pieces,i don't see anything wrong with it.

Gold and silver can totally work together as long as you do it right. In fact, I think that matchy-matchy jewelry looks pretty tacky... too planned, not very modern or innovative.

I even have some wooden jewelry, and I love mixing it with silver or gold!

It's all about making sure that the entire outfit comes together at the end.

Yes, that's right. I think that it's best not to wear jewelries with these colors at the same..
