Pursepage at NY Fashion Week: Nicole Miller Spring 2008

7pm at “The Promenade” in Bryant Park…
After over 2 decades,
Nicole Miller is still pumping out the good stuff. She first made her name in the industry her little black dresses and whimsical conversational prints.
This spring, the designer showed a collection of black and cream, spotlights of rose, mustard and burnished gold. This was a showing meant for a sexy, smoldering version of schoolmarm. There were classically styled blouses and dresses, but tailored right against the curves of the body with sexy open slits down the back. There were a lot of interesting architectural detail and art nouveau prints on blouses and dresses. One of my favorite
handbags on the runway was made of pleated leather, almost in a sunburst pattern.
Spotted in the front row:
Jane Krakowski of 30 Rock and Ally McBeal and recording artist
Mya, and a whole bunch of fashion editors from every magazine who are also longtime fans.
