Smile Spot Fake Chanel

I am learning how to spot fake Chanels. I would like to share a few of things that I have been told. Please let me know if I am correct and if you have other things to share.
Authentic Chanels should not have phillips head screws in the metal plates; never have tags "Made In Paris"-Chanels are "Made In France" or "Made In Italy"-Usually the Made In Paris is sewn into the back seam. There are certain groups on numbers on the holograms that indicate a phony-I have to research this. Please share your experiences. Also, when I find these fake "authentic" bags, I contact the owner and ask about how they determined that it was authentic. Usually I am told that they got it from a trusted relative but are not certain. I haven't involved Ebay itself.
What about your experiences?
Glad to be a member.

For me, the best way to avoid guesswork is to only buy direct from a reputable in-store dealer. Like Neiman Marcus.

Default Chanel Shopping

My small collection is made up of vintage bags which are less costly, mostly in nice shape and not the trendy ones that are out of my range. It is fun to get those gently used ones that are a bit different but still as lovely. Neiman and Saks are way out of my league. I am a newbie to Chanel but learning and cautious.

I have about 6 Chanels now and love them. I sold off almost everything else.

I think I'm falling more in love with Coach now adays. I have a problem with sticking to the same handbag for too long.

I am constantly buying purses and then selling them. I keep them well cared for and once I use them a few times, I get the desire for something different. I try different types and then see what works. I have 2 small Chanels for those fancier occasions but like the messenger type or tote for everyday. I bought 4 vintage Chanel totes-I gave one to my daughter in law, one to my niece and kept 2-The inside blue lining chafed badly in one and I smeared lots of creme polish on it and rubbed it off-great new look-almost like denim. What a difference! I still like Ebay if you get a good deal and trust the seller. I read the feedback -I look for sales of similar merchandise. I don't always want to deal with a seller who only sold inexpensive things and then wants to sell a Chanel or similar. I like good track records!

baseballchick,I would NEVER EVER buy anything off of eBay,especially if it states it is authentic...you never know.I would buy from a store that sells Chanel bags because you know they are genuine Chanel bags. But this is my opinion.Granted there may be honest sellers on eBay who truly do sell authentic bags...but you still take a risk.
