Default Has PETA ever approached you about an animal bag?

I've seen PETA members around my city protesting various things. Mostly, they protest the circus.

Have you ever gotten flack from carrying an animal skin purse?

Not in public like that. Because Chicago had so many problems a couple years back with people getting into fights with PETA people they have cooled things off on the street.

But when I was in school I did have two girls who would bother every girl in class about their bags, even if they weren't leather or another animal skin.

Hmm, I love animals, but snakes are last on my list.

Exclamation

Speaking of snake phobias, an anaconda freaked me out at an aquarium this week. I was posing for a pic by the Amazon tank and it snuck up by my head (it was swimming). Of course, there was glass, but still....

Just like they don't care about you getting mad at them for walking up to them, we usually don't care about what they think about us wearing animal print bags.

Purses made from endangered animals are very illegal, so the ESA has those animals protected as far as that goes. So, any exotic materials like snake skin, alligator, ostrich, ect. is the same concept as using leather (killing one animal or killing another).

I've never been approached by PETA and I hope I never am (yikes!) While I am an animal lover and am all for animals being treated humanly, I enjoy my leather and alligator bags guilt-free I also usually do some research to make sure the product materials come from a reputable, humane farm.

During the holidays they are usually out in the city protesting or handing out information. I saw them on Michigan avenue this year during the busy weekends and some members were dressed up as animals in chains and they would shout out at various women.

Eveyone just kindo of ignored them, so I don't think it did much good.

Well, using endangered animals, yes, it is illegal, but not any other kind of animal skin, like the ones I mentioned in my last post. Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Coach, ect. would all be outta business.

it's illegal when you hurt or kill animals... Here in my country I heard in news that one man loved snakes and he covered his car with a snake skin came form his old snake skin... but his snake is alive until now... he collected the old skin and process it into a leather and he use it to cover his car with a leather snake skin.. cool!

I think they are the same weirdos that burned all the houses in california last week in the name of "the earth"

it'll be interesting to see if the weirdo burning all the cars in dallas this past week will turn up to be a PETA type as well

Yes! I am a St. Louis gal who lived in Chicago for 5 years... the Peta folks were crazy up there! I have a darling Mink clutch which I carry very rarely... but each time it came out of the house with me - someone had a problem! I love animals... but love fur and leather too!

Not yet and hopefully never. I think that situation would be too tense for me. It makes people uncomfortable.
