Where Do You Shop For Plus Size

My girlfriend is serving in the military and asked me if I could take her younger sister prom dress shopping to help her pick something out. She is on a budget and I really don't know what retailers carry plus sizes so not sure where to take her.

Anyone have any ideas?

There are several retailers that specialize in Curvy Ladies sizing, Lane Bryant is the first that comes to mind. I would also go straight to Nordstrom since it is a prom and she will want a formal gown. The metropolis locations of Nordstrom stores will have a bigger selection. If not, look online. Nordstrom.com purchases can be returned in their stores, this is very helpful.

Thanks, we actually found tons of places that carried plus size dresses. More than I ever thought we would.

In case anyone else is looking for places, JCPenneys has a whole section, Fashion Bug has some, DEB and Torrid also do and they are really well priced. We went to Davids Bridal too after someone told us they have a whole line of prom dresses that go up to size 24.

I know some people who shop at Torrid, although I'm not sure what the clothes are like. Department stores should definitely have plenty of plus sizes. It's so frustrating when stores don't carry a wide variety of sizes

A lot of stores carry a variety of sizes in their online stores. I'm short, so I order pants in shorter lengths online all the time and then I don't have to spend money at the tailor getting them hemmed. Ann Taylor LOFT carries a variety of sizes online, including maternity! I think it is great to see fun stores offering cute clothes in this area.
