Default Repairs

Just had to get a leather strap restitched. How much do you normally spend on bag repairs?

Also, the repair guy asked if I wanted to have my leather straps reinforced for an extra charge so they would stay put. I declined, but maybe I should have? Only had my bag (some random French designer whose name escapes me) for three weeks and the shoulder strap just came off. Grrr.

I don't know about other designers/brands cause I collect only Coach but if I have a problem with one of my bags, I can have it sent out for repairs and it only costs me $20.

Coach charges $20, I didn't know that. As of right now, I haven't had problems with my Coach bags!

If you need to have something repaired, you can go to Coach.com and print out a Repair Form, fill it out, package and ship the letter and your Coach item and send it out yourself for whatever price you'll pay at the Post Office. You'll need to include insurance.

Or.........

You can take it into your local/nearest Coach boutique (I don't think outlets will allow it), have a manager look at the damage/whatever needs repair and they can send it out for you. You'll have to pay $20 at that time. Once the Repairs Dept receives it, they look it over and see what can be done. Repairs are FREE. You only pay to ship it to them.

I forgot to mention, if you take your items to the boutique and you have more than one item, you'll have to pay $20 per each item. They say it takes about 6-8 weeks to get your bags back but it all depends on what kind of repair is needed.

Also, if they feel they can't repair your bag/item, they'll send you either a credit or voucher for a discount (20, 30, 40% off) a future purchase.

I sent in two bags in November... one had weird spots on the bottom (be SUPER CAREFUL with suede) and the other bag had a ripped strap (her arm was broken!!!). They fixed the strap on my black one and sent it back to me in five weeks. They kept my Novelty Patchwork Gallery Tote and sent me a credit for the price of the bag ($426).

Coach has GREAT customer service and they sure do stand behind the quality of their products!!
