Default Kitty Litter Problems

My friends 8 year old fat female cat will not poop in her litter box. This just started about 2 months ago and we have tried everything to solve it. She will whiz in it but not poop. Any ideas?

Sorry to be so gross sounding.

What kind does she use? Our one cat use to do that. We're using Mr. Kitty litter.

I had a cat that no matter what I tried, he would poop in the bathtub! He would tinkle in the litterbox, but not the other. I urged the kids to keep the bathroom door shut at all times, yeah right. It was disgusting. Cats are strange creatures. Sometimes there isn't an answer or a solution. I have one now that keeps me up most nights so that I am continually exhausted.

Default Do you...

wash the litter box after every 2-3 litter changes?
I had a large cat that would poop outside the box,
but not in it, if i didn't wash the ammonia smell out
of it entirely. Solved the problem the next day.

I have to agree with the washing idea. After a certain amount of time, cats urine will react with the plastic of the litter box, and cats will start having problems using the box. Use bleach, and if that doesn't work I suggest you get a new litter box. Also if you have more than one cat, it is recommended you have one box for each cat.
